Very friendly and welcoming, accommodating staff who are helpful with requests and a fab location right in the centre. Nice breakfasts. Rooms are exceptional value, albeit some areas / parts of the rooms are a little rough around the edges. Would definitely visit again. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Lovely pub and atmosphere. The manager was really friendly and welcoming. The rooms are abit tired but overall good experience and value for money

A lovely old city pub with a good selection of beers and ciders. Reasonably priced food, compared to some places in Wells. Can't vouch for the accommodation because we only stopped for lunch but might stop over next time we visit. Very kind and helpful bar staff.

Lovely period hotel. Bar serving lots of craft ales and offer delicious fresh meals, our evening meal and breakfast were amazing! Friendly staff that couldn’t do enough for us, we felt very welcome. Room was spotless and bed was so comfortable we will definitely be returning.
Visited the Saturday market just at the end of the street & cathedral opposite the hotel, perfect spot to explore.
My only criticism was hotel has no parking, but we managed to park next to cathedral on Cathedral Green, BA52UE on the sat nav. It’s a 2 hour stay throughout the day but you can park easily between 6pm-10am

We stayed in a room in an annexe to the rear of the hotel grounds -- possibly above former stables when it was a coaching inn. Very cosy and quiet, with an enormous, comfortable bed.

Great service, fabulous ambiance. Staff (especially Ty) were friendly and welcoming. Beers were plentiful too and we were offered samples before commiting to buy. As all were fabulous we woke up with very sore heads. Rooms above were smart spacious and extremely comfy. Breakfast was delicious too!
