Home Inn NEO-Wenchang Wennan Old Street Confucian Temple Yanjiang Road Branch

I stayed here during the Chinese New Year. It was over 400 RMB a night, which is about 200 RMB more than the neighboring hotels. But I saw its high ratings and figured a chain hotel would guarantee cleanliness, so I booked it. However, I was still disappointed. No balcony – that's not a big deal. The main issue was the cleanliness; it was far below what you'd expect from a Home Inn in big cities like Beijing. What really bothered me was the smell in the lobby as soon as you walked in. I mentioned it to the front desk, but it was still there the next day. The hallways also felt stuffy and unventilated. Honestly, it's not worth over 400 RMB a night; I'd rather have stayed at one of the other hotels nearby. The staff were okay, though. I left a toy in the lobby, and after I'd already left, the front desk called me to let me know. Thanks for that. Oh, and it's close to Wenchang Park, and people were singing there until 1 AM, and I could hear it in my room – absolutely speechless. On the upside, the hotel's location is great, right outside are all sorts of traditional 'Father's Tea' shops and Wennan Old Street.

This Home Inn is quite good, located by the Wenchang River, so it's very quiet. The room is spacious, with a small chair and a desk. The bathroom is also large, with a separate wet and dry area, and there's a balcony. If you wake up early, you can even catch the sunrise. It would be even better if the breakfast offered more variety.

Very clean. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, and a small night market just across the river. The front desk staff were excellent.

Extremely satisfied! The cleanliness was exceptional, and the rooms were fantastic. The hotel also felt very secure. This is my go-to hotel whenever I visit Hainan. Conveniently, you'll find two renowned Laoba Cha establishments right downstairs, and the Xiadong Road Night Market is just next door – perfect for an evening stroll!
