Stayed here when walking Ridgeway. Bad weather so needed a good adress to rest. Good hotel after a 28km walk. Comfortable room. Excellent dinner with salmon, confit le duck and sticky toffee pudding. and good breakfast. We enjoyed, jolly good!

This was the second time we have been to this hotel and it doesn’t disappoint. It is lovely with plenty of quality touches which make it feel like a real treat. The staff are friendly the food is good and the hotel is in a great location for walking and exploring the area.

Lots of nice special touches such as proper milk in the fridge and a good choice of free drinks. Staying at the front of the hotel was not a problem. The breakfasts were superb. The location was very good in the centre of town yet close to good walks. It was very good quality for a reasonable price.

Stayed for one night at the Bel & Dragon at the Red Lion. A warm welcome and lovely atmosphere upon arriving. Promptly shown to our room- which was a lovely mix of traditional aesthetics and modern touches- very well styled! Bed and pillows were very comfortable, the room was impeccably clean with a dreamy rainfall shower. Complementary sloe gin, tea & coffee - what’s not to love! 5 stars from us- would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay again if in the area.

Would thoroughly recommend for a family funeral get together. Matt and Fiona helped us plan and provided excellent service and food in a private, cosy environment. Nothing was too much trouble including catering last minute for one guest on a special diet. Many thanks.

A great welcome, friendly & great service. Within walking distance of family so good for an overnight stay or a few days. Would highly recommend, we'll be going there again.
