Amazing hotel, great location, beautiful beach, the best breakfast

A hotel is just a building. The staff are the ones who make the building come alive. This is my second time coming here with my wife. It’s a short trip from Miami, and I first visited two years ago. Since then, I have been talking about this hotel to my friends and family nonstop. It was my wife’s birthday during this trip, and we decided to make a quick return to the island. The minute we walked in, we were warmly greeted. Tariq at the front desk welcomed us with a smile and provided excellent service. He even used our names several times during check-in, which made the experience feel personal and genuine. Karla followed up during our stay to make sure everything was going well, and Carson at the pool constantly checked in to make sure we were taken care of. But I must say, “Uncle Byron” has that unforgettable smile, voice, and style of hospitality that you simply cannot forget. I recognized him immediately from my visit two years ago. That alone says something special. In an industry where people meet thousands of guests over the years, it is the people who create genuine moments that leave lasting memories. Living in the USA can often feel like a nonstop rat race, so it was nice to simply relax. I have been a General Manager in the hospitality industry for 39 years, working with the big three hotel brands as well as smaller independent hotels. For once, it was nice to just be a guest and not the GM. What stood out most was watching the staff genuinely smile while effortlessly taking care of guests — even while handling some crazy requests I overheard during the stay. No one missed a beat. They simply made it happen. There was no frustration, no hesitation, and no loss of professionalism. The team worked together naturally, and you could feel that the culture here is built around taking care of people. Hospitality takes special people — people who truly love helping others. You may never become rich in money in this industry, but you become rich in memories and self-satisfaction, knowing you helped families and friends create meaningful experiences together. Once you understand that hospitality is not about weekends off or holidays free, but about creating moments where families can connect, relax, laugh, and make memories together, you realize how rewarding this profession truly is. Don’t get me wrong — this industry can absolutely test you at times. Long hours, weekends, holidays, demanding guests, and the pressure to always deliver can wear people down. But seeing hospitality performed so naturally and sincerely at this hotel was refreshing. It reminded me why I am proud to be part of the hospitality family. We spent 5 nights here in April, 2026 and loved the property and staff. We had a premium canopy view in the main building. The room and public areas were spotless and featured high end finishes and design. Robes, slippers and little touches that delighted like bracelets that served as room keys and enclosed areas to dispose of room service leftovers all contributed to that 5 star feel. The main building is quite new, with other buildings being older and a different style, so we can’t speak to the design or condition of the other room types. The pool areas were perfect, with plenty of available loungers every day. Cruise ship day visitors were a minimal distraction, as they were positioned in certain areas to ensure hotel guests had choice spots. Even with 4 ships in, we did not feel crowded at the pool. Many snorkelers and fairly crowded beaches that day though. We ate a SeaCat twice but skipped Alera as the menu did not appeal to us. Prices are high by island standards but very reasonable for a 5-star property. Had a great lobster dinner entree at Seacat with 2 huge tails for $40 for example. Enjoyed the spa and game room, and don’t sleep on the social hour with appetizers, wine and rum punch gratis. Saving the best for last, the staff was outstanding! Everyone was eager to please and had a smile on their face, seemingly happy to be there and to help you. A special shoutout to Belkis, who went above and beyond for us and was nothing short of amazing!! Her smile always lit up the lobby and made our day. It’s not often that you hug the staff goodbye after 5 nights, but we hugged Belkis and will genuinely miss her! This place is magic and we can wait to get back there!

Absolutely loved it here! The beach was spectacular and staff is amazing. The hotel is spacious and luxurious but still feels intimate. Activities with Joshua were a blast. And drinks with Devin were tasty. I am most certainly coming back!!!!

Sunset sunset cruise was amazing. Had a great time. The driver was very tentative Major trip with Maintenance very helpful. Great wonderful great great job. If you come to town Honduras, make sure that you connect with Joshua. Awesome guy connected very helpful very polite and he’s the man around the island reachedout to Joshua from roatan activities

We had a great experience at Kimpton Grand Roatán! The staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always helpful throughout our stay. The snorkeling here is absolutely the best — crystal clear water and amazing marine life right off the beach. A special shoutout to Joshua from Roatan Activities — such a great and funny guy who made our excursion even more enjoyable. He really added to the experience! Highly recommend this hotel if you’re visiting Roatán. We can’t wait to come back!

We just got back from an amazing stay at the Grand Kimpton and honestly can’t say enough. The lobby was stunning, welcoming, and exactly what you hope for. The beaches were clean, the staff warm and genuinely friendly, and the whole property carried a beautiful sense of local culture. What took the trip to another level was Joshua, who manages the resort activities. He had three excursions lined up for us almost immediately, and when my wife got sick on the fourth day, he quietly reshuffled everything without any fuss and got us right back on track. He even sourced a private boat when it was the only option for snorkeling — the kind of initiative you just don’t come across often. We snorkeled, explored the island, and did parasailing, all of it incredible. Not one issue the entire stay. If you’re heading to the Grand Kimpton, you’re in great hands.

The Kimpton in Roatan is an amazing resort that was well thought out. The property is set on the end of West Bay Beach in a lush tropical setting within walking distance to convenience stores as well as tons of bars and restaurants. You can also walk right into the water for amazing snorkeling on the reef there. There are multiple bars and restaurants on site with delicious high end food and craft cocktails. Prices at all bars and restaurants are comparable to all others on the beach. The pool area was large and clean with very attentive pool attendants like Gilberto who set up our chairs as soon as he saw us walk out to the area. Servers like Angel were attentive to all of our food and beverage needs served both in or out of the pool. The staff everywhere on the resort were kind, helpful, and intuitive. The servers in all of the restaurants were impeccable. We especially enjoyed starting our day with great service and breakfast from Karla and Tirzah at Vos. Nayeli was also thoughtful and friendly when we visited her for snacks and craft cocktails in the evenings. The rooms are spacious and clean. Housekeeping was on top of their game in both our room and in common areas. The resort has everything you need including free water toys and snorkeling gear to free filtered water and ice machines on each floor. I would highly recommend this luxury property in a beautiful tropical setting.
