We have been coming here for years. It is our stopover before going home to the Utila Cays. The staff is so friendly and the food is always amazing. On this trip we decided to stay two days because we are waiting for a friend to arrive. The Resort is currently in the middle of renovations and it was very noisy over our room (Seahorse). I asked the staff how much longer will the construction continue and they said all week. I asked if we could upgrade and I would cover any additional cost and they not only upraded us to a suite but also gave us a huge discount. The office went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. We stayed in the Sueños suite and it was spectacular!

The staff was phenomenal! From the reception desk to the cleaning staff to the staff at breakfast and especially, Jack, the security man! Always helpful and willing to go out of their way. The location was great. We were sad to leave! The were converting to a fresh water pool while we there and hopefully they get it figured out. If they do we will definitely be back!

The boardwalk accessing the property on either side was in need of repairs with boards missing. We were most dissappointed in that we had booked our stay and paid half up front for a certain theme room and did not get the room we booked. No notice that it was not available after a 10 month advance booking and payment and no offer to compensate us other than offering another room which was not at all what we hoped for. An offer to reduce the rate would have gone a long way. Most mornings the breakfast that was included was cold. Could use some help in the kitchen even making toast. On a plus, the Staff were great and it was clean...So much so that my husbands shorts were ruined with bleach from the bathroom floor. Other guests we spoke with said they had also stayed at the Caribe in previous years but it has changed and like us would not stay there again. It looks like the rooms are all being sold out privately anyway.

Over all it was a good experience. I didn’t like that the pool was salt water. So was the water from sinks, showers. Restaurant food was good but took very long to get our order. I was never able to get pool towels as they were always out. Also power kept going out randomly. Great location a minute walk from West Bay beach. Breakfast was great as well.

Unique. Small and comfortable. Staff went above and beyond with service and friendliness.
Unfortunately, being diabetic and limited on beverages, the fact that they did not stock diet cola and ran out of tequilla for my 2nd week was disappointing. Hotel staff went and purchased my necessary diet pepsi from a local gas station and delivered it to my room where there was a very wecome fridge that workd perfectly...along with the air conditioner and wifi. The beds and bed linens were exceptionally comfortable and clean. Clean, quiet, comfortable, perfect for me!
