Stayed one night, reserved and paid 3rd party, desk clerk asked for credit card, explained that I had already paid 3rd party, returned card, later check credit acct, they had charged an additional$25, after questioning, Inn canceled charge..
Beware
Additionally, attempted to re book next day, the desk clerk offered me $148+ rate, vs my previous $67..
Inn was empty, just a few vehicles.
Although wouldn't offer me a less expensive rate.
Wonder how they pay there bills??

the Motor Lodge rooms are always very clean but starting to show their age. Better lighting bedside would be a great improvement - a simple lamp on the nightstand will do.

We loved the old-fashioned atmosphere of the property. The staff members were very polite and helpful, and the breakfast pastries and coffee were delicious. My only complaint is that although we registered three adults for the room, there were only two bath towels.

Clean and safe place. We really enjoyed. The only thing missing was a microwave and refrigerator in the room.

Definitely not worth the $415 charge per night. Would definitely not recommend room #40. The decor was very, very tired. There is a way to do colonial reproduction and this is not it! It looked like someone went to a used furniture store and bought odd pieces with no thought to color and fabric coordination. The shower was broken and water came out of the shower head and tub spout at the same time. Housekeeping had to be aware of the is as every time they cleaned the room this would have happened. The room had a musy smell and was probably related to the wall air conditioning units. It was difficult to regulate the temperature and it was noisy. All in all a disappointing stay at a spot that could have a lot of potential.

The staff was pretty good. The reaturaunt and banquet spaces looked nice. The hotel itself is a maze. Difficult to even find the front desk for checkin. There is no elevator so you ar humping bags up hundred year old steps. Then there was our room. We went from maze to fin house. The foundation onthis old buolding is shameful. The floor from the door to the room to the bathroom sink is at least a 4" difference. Hence the funhouse effect. Windows are old and cracked and so on.

What an interesting place. It’s three hotels on one property. There is an old (200 plus years old) inn, a new hotel building, and then a “retro” motor lodge. We stayed in the motor lodge and it was a mixed bag, but mostly good. The room was large and clean. There was a balcony you could sit on. The beds were comfy. The room lacked the most basic amenities, however: fridge, coffee maker, microwave. You can get these things at a Super 8, so their absence really stuck out. You could apparently rent a mini fridge, which seemed like an outdated, wonky way of doing things. The property looked nice with nice landscaping. There is a nice outdoor pool, but it is apparently open only on certain days. I recommend checking out the entire property. The old inn is an interesting building. It definitely feels historic. It features a bake shop, dining room and tavern. I’d probably stay here again, but hope they put a little more effort into the rooms.

Beautiful place historic hotel nice people working there, great coffee and coffee snacks in the morning. I really enjoyed the room and the furniture and all this vibes and ambience. Old Sturbridge village just 4 min away drive.
