Given 1 for amenities as the bed was too soft and the shower was very weak and the temperature gauge was very tricky. Needed to be a plumber to set the optimum temperature.
The fridge did not work. the temperature gauge button was broken

The male receptionist who greeted us was not particularly friendly; and only when we got to our first floor room did we read about a luggage service. The room was tastefully furnished and clean, and other staff we interacted with were friendly. However the biggest issue is that the walls between rooms are are paper thin so we could hear people next door and doors banging. This woke us up early on both nights we stayed. If you stay - bring ear plugs. There was a lounge with a bar - the bar was permanently closed so there was no where to get a hot or cold drink unless you went to a cafe down the road.

The Heartland Hotel is a place where time seems to slow down and nature takes center stage. My recent stay there was a delightful mix of charming quirks and unexpected gems. The hotel wears its age with pride, within its weathered walls lies a warmth that seeps into your bones. My room was a bit small but comfortable and you can relax after a day of trekking through glacial valleys. The hotel's location is a short stroll to a hidden glow worm forest. the area has a very Limited dining options unlike franz Josef. the hotel is perfect for outdoor enthusiasts who value rustic charm and nature's raw beauty.

A wonderful venue to stay. All the staff on ALL levels were delightful, and very accommodating, even when really busy. Very comfortable. A fabulous part of new zealand and 'a must do' to visit. We had a wonderful weekend. Nice cafes and restaurants including lake Mattheson cafe.

Location was good with adequate parking. The room and bathroom were very clean but the fridge was not working with the dial broken. The shower stream was very weak and difficult to set the correct temperature. I found the bed too soft and uncomfortable.

Couldn't have asked for a better location. We wanted to do the Heli Hike and was looking for accommodation in Fox Glacier. It was super easy to checkin and the room was neat, tidy and cosy. Our heating wasn't working but when I informed the front desk, it was resolved within minutes. The room came with all the amenities and the bathroom even though was super tiny was very clean and neat. Service of the housekeeping team was exceptional. They even had laundry facilities for a very nominal cost.
