The motel rooms in New Zealand are about the same size. If we were assigned a room facing the road, it would be a bit noisy. The kitchen facilities are complete, the lady at the front desk actively provides help, and there is a red supermarket next to it for convenient shopping. We left our cell phones behind when we checked out, and the waiter put them away for us until we went back to pick them up.

This hotel is run by a nice old couple and their family. Although it is a bit far away from the town center, parking in the hotel area is convenient and the surrounding facilities are complete. There is a gas station at the intersection 50 meters away. You can reach a fast food restaurant in five minutes by car. You can reach the town center in a quarter of an hour, and there are Large supermarkets and attractions.
The rooms are equipped with basic cooking facilities and also have a living room, which is very cozy.

My plan was to stay here, visit Punakaiki to the north, and then drive south on the West Coast of New Zealand to see the glaciers. Great plan, but the West Coast highway had flooded, so I couldn't get to the glaciers. The Scenicland was a typical motel - everything worked fine and it was a good value. There was a restaurant within a five minute walk, and a large, well-stocked supermarket even closer. All in all, it met my needs for a quick stopover.

8/10 - Pretty spacious room with a mini fridge and microwave. Shower water pressure is low and you have to pay $10 for laundry - no big deal but other places it has been free. Location is good, right next to a New World supermarket and a 15 minute walk from Monteith's Brewery. Very comfortable bed and pillows! Quite happy with my 2 day stay just wish the shower was a little better!
