The Dartmoor Inn at Lydford

This was a long planned trip with friends, some of whom had been before and raved about it. They were right: Tess and her team were so friendly and welcoming, both to us and our assorted dogs. Dinner was exceptional - top quality local ingredients cooked and presented with real flare. Then upstairs to comfortable bedrooms. Great breakfast too.

Once again beautiful food and service nothing was too much trouble there is a lot of places could learn a lot from here l just wish it was a little closer to home l would be there every week well done

Fantastic meal and service - not very often you have a meal that you simply couldn’t replicate at home. Amazingly skilful chef and team. Not a chip in sight fantastic. A meal we will remember for a very long time as we were celebrating our daughters 21st. Thank you for a memorable evening

What a fantastic stay! Tess and Jay were extremely welcoming and accommodating from the moment of booking - even calling to check if we wanted dinner. They were flexible with our early check-in and changing our dinner reservation too. The room was beautifully presented with everything we could need for our stay, including fresh milk for our morning drinks. The bed was very comfortable and everything was really clean. We also had dinner during our stay and the food was simply outstanding. Jay clearly cares about what he has the menu and wants to serve the very best! The staff were very professional, yet relaxed and made us feel very welcome. We will 100% be staying again when in the area and would recommend anyone visiting Dar**oor, or the surrounding area, for food, if not a stay! A lovely family run Inn, with a great team that we couldn’t rate highly enough.

I did give this hotel a very bad review earlier,for which I humbly and sincerely apologise. Some friends of ours booked a table at another establishment,where the food was atrocious,and having visited The Dar**oor a few weeks ago,got them mixed up.Hopefully they will be able to,with my absolute permission,delete it.I am so sorry. Thank you.

Amazing stay with dinner and breakfast. Lots of lovely local produce. Friendly staff. Beautiful spacious room with a big bathroom and very well equipped tea /coffee making facilities fridge. Parking. Food cooked to perfection. Arancini balls, pigeon, pork belly burger, cheese and the last picture breakfast with local yoghurt. Can’t wait to go back.

We stayed in the Brentor room and was blown away by this beautiful clean room. Large bathroom. We ate both dinner and breakfast here. Both of which were delicious. An awful lot of locally sourced produce used and a good selection of wines. As this place was situated on the main road I was concerned about traffic noise. However the windows were glazed well and heard very little so don’t be put off by this. Comfortable bed. Decor was tasteful. Well equipped coffee and tea tray in room with a fridge. . Would go back tomorrow.

Stayed here for business. No internet or phone signal. I stayed here on a Tuesday and upon arrival it was stated that the restaurant is closed on Mondays and Tuesday even though this wasn't stated on **********. The bedrooms are extremely close a very busy road therefore I had very little sleep.

Recently stayed at the Dar**oor Inn on route to the ferry. This place is well worth a visit wether you stay the night or have lunch or dinner. We received a very warm welcome from ALL the staff who could not do enough for us during our stay. Everything is done to a very high standard and the attention to detail was excellent. One particular plus for us was the menu being so GF friendly.
