Pendry was our LA base for 4 nights towards the end of a three week California road trip, and was exactly the right place to base ourselves and relax after 2+ weeks of one & two night hotel stays. The service was very very good - James the bellman helped with our many and heavy bags and gave us excellent recommendations of things to do based on what we said we liked. The valet guys, housekeeping texting to see exactly when we wanted our room made up, and the bar tenders at both Bar Pendry downstairs, and The Bar at Merois upstairs were excellent. When we checked in we were offered the chance to upgrade to a one room suite for an extra $130/ night - which we took and was a great decision. The room gave us loads of space to spread out and relax, and the bath room was the ideal hotel bathroom - and I've seen plenty at luxury hotels around the world. We even took a bath, which we rarely do. The room overlooked the Pendry residences and the spacious entrance for cars off North Olive Street, which gave an extra sense of space and quiet in a very built up and busy area of Sunset Boulevard. The best things: Location - for LA the things we wanted to do were easily drivable: Griffith Observatory; Mulholland Scenic Drive; the Getty Center; LACMA; the Peterson Auto museum; The Grove and the farmers market; Rodeo Drive (parking at SM1 for $4 for a few hours was the bargain of the whole trip!) Food & drink - we loved eating (& drinking) at the rooftop Bar at Merois. We often ended up going there rather than going out after a busy day sight seeing. Service - as mentioned above. Overall - we would definitely stay there again for future LA trips. It was expensive - for a UK visitor the exchange rate at ca. $1.25 and all the taxes/ add ons are part of that. But it definitely felt pricey for the whole of our trip compared to extensive US visits pre-pandemic. In the context of the ten hotels we stayed at, and all the meals we ate, across our 22 day trip, Pendry West Hollywood was excellent value for the comfort and service we enjoyed.
