Novotel Jakarta Gajah Mada

The room was clean and comfortable. The location is very strategic, within walking distance to many tourist attractions and restaurants such as Chinatown, Kota Tua, and several shopping malls. Overall, the service was good and the staff were friendly and helpful. A pleasant stay and recommended for travelers visiting the area.

This hotel is in clear need of renovation and improvement, and for a 4-star hotel, it is simply not worth it. The room felt  had an unpleasant odor, with poorly maintained carpets and pillowcases that smelled musty. Many lights were not functioning, and the shower was leaking, which further reduced comfort. The lift situation was also inconvenient, with only two elevators working, causing long wait times. I also noticed a leaking water dispenser. Service was disappointing—the bellboy response was slow, and the basement area had a strong sewage-like smell. Overall, the experience fell far below 4-star expectations

Stay with my family here. A bit of let down because of the breakfast is not tasty and kind a sad! Maybe because not many guests taking their breakfast and the area seems very dark and old. And i find the swimming pool water a bit cloudy which is unclean.

The first room they gave us was leaking water from the bathroom, but they gave us another perfectly good room. The room was clean and spacious, good location and facilities.

The hotel is very well located in Central Jakarta, but unfortunately, there is a construction of Jakarta MRT in front of the hotel. Jalan Gajah Mada & Hayam Wuruk (the long street stretch where Novotel Jakarta Gajah Mada is located) are recommended not to be visited by local Transport Authority because of MRT construction (as of 19 - 20 Des 2025). The room is very dim lit, triggering the question if the hotel is used for the entertainment associated with the surrounding. The toilet door & flush are damaged. Some power sockets don't work. We could use the heater in water jug to make tea & coffee. The hotel is supposed to be nice but may need further maintenance. We wanted to visit the conserved & gazetted former House of Chinese Leader in Batavia, that's the reason of staying this hotel. But, we couldn't do that as we got food poisoning. We checked out early at 8am because we needed to go for doctor. The receptionist seems to show no care to someone suffering from food poisoning, offered no help and collected the room cards. Perhaps, it's not part of hotel's SOP. We like the view from the high floor and could see many skyscrapers of Jakarta, very interesting We ike the spacious hotel room, especially we are family traveller. I hope the hotel could maintain it's famous name as an Accor Hotel and may visit again if there are improvements. Otherwise, Ascott Hotels may be my choice.

Everything is nice, except for the modification. Due to a flight delay, I wanted to modify my booking from 2 nights to 1 night. So i sent a modification through Trip I was busy so I didnt think much of it. At that point, I could get a full refund through Trip. i did not know that my modification request was rejected, and I went on the trip only to find out at the hotel itself. I would have been better off cancelling getting the whole refund and rebooking only 1 night stay

So far i stayed here, the service was good, the room was cleaned. Near with the shopping mall and easy to get food. Highly recommended 👍🏻

Nice location. Easy access to many restaurants. A unique Chinese building just next to it. Worth to visit

We stayed here 2 nights and I will definitely stay again next time I'm in jakarta. Great location near old town attractions and good restaurants nearby. The gym and sauna were great and no extra charge. We didn't reserve breakfast but we did have room service and that was very good value for money. The staff we spoke to were all very friendly and helpful. Thank you!
