AI Summary

Located in picturesque Lulworth Cove, the property features stunning beach and mountain views, comfortable beds, and a tranquil atmosphere. Staff are notably friendly and the breakfast diverse. However, guests find the pricing steep, especially for parking and amenities.

Now known as Bishops Cottage and is now a family home and ran by the family. We were welcomed, checked in and given a tour. The place is very well located and has beautiful outdoor space. Its got a pool but not open during our stay as cold. Many guests had their dogs which was nice to see. The breakfast menu was great and had something for everyone (2 fussy teenager's in tow)! The place has no alchol licence but you are welcome to take your own. Cleaning needs a little more attention, cobwebs and woodlice in the loft rooms. In general the place needs a little inves**ent. Having just changed hands I'm sure this will happen once the family are settled in. We would stay again.

Having looked forward to our holiday away , I was really disappointed on arrival as the hotel appearance is nothing like the out dated pictures on the website. We had reserved 4 days and when shown to our room , was disappointed to say this was dirty, grubby, and no tlc taken in the up keep. The kettle lead does not reach the plug , so in the end you boil the kettle on the dirty carpet. Cobwebs behind the furniture, mold in the toilet and shower. When mentioning to Travis about the room and were any more available due to the room not being to the standard shown on website , he did offer us a upgrade , however over breakfast another couple also asked him if the room for upgrade was ready .. so on hearing this, we said that we were told the room was ours, thankfully this was sorted and we were given an upgrade to the bar room .. The bar room was spacious and and better than previous , however still had mold , loose toilet seat , old sofa that needs replacing with a well stained white chair. I would not even consider paying the advertised room cost for this . Good points - Breakfast excellent ( apart from day when chef was off , cremated bacon and glued beans , not the best ) Staff were considerate and think embarrassed at times due to lack of leadership (non) It's a shame this place is not being given the lovecand attention as the location is the best in Lulworth. Swimming pool and outside area could also need the tlc , beautiful views from garden but unfortunately the furniture needs a revamp and tidy . So much tat left around the garden ..

Rudd's has got to be Lulworth's best kept secret. I've walked past many times, but never knew there's an outdoor swimming pool. The staff were friendly and helpful, the breakfast was delicious and waking up with a view of the pool, surround cliffs and the sea is pure heaven. The guest house is rustic and small, the WiFi in the 'pool room' was hit and miss, and the outside area needs upgrading. But despite that, i absolutely loved the place and all if it's quirks really added to the relaxed countryside/seaside vibe. It's the perfect location for Lulworth Cove and the local walks. Even though you're just off the main stretch, it's very calming and quiet. We stayed in the pool room, which has its own terrace that looks onto the pool, and even though it was a warm summer day, I was the only person in the pool. A few people had drinks around the pool, but they didn't stay long. It honestly felt like we had the pool and garden to ourselves. Also, you can see the sea from the bed. Delightful. If you want a relaxing break in a stunning location, this is the place. I can not recommend it highly enough.

Only went in for a drink and to be honest couldn’t wait to get out of the place. Run by kids who just want to get smashed. This is a sister hotel of one in London and either the owners don’t care or have no idea how the place is being run. Could be amazing but needs a full refurb

We were met by Travis a lovely ‘young’ man. Showed us to our room in the attic (staff quarters) The room was small and to be honest dated and dirty see pics. We were told they had basically run out of food you can have fish and chips but they had no batter, no pizza tomato base so garlic base only, can have a burger but not veg!! So basically no food available! The bar had no beer. All pumps were off unless you like strongbow. We were kept awake by the friends of people who work in this place. And after 10:30 I had to have a word with Travis as his friends were banging on his door opposite our room shouting his name. I complained about the noise below and this was rectified at 10:40pm. Doesnt seem late but down at the cove your day starts early. The room wow! It was disgusting im not sure what colour the carpet should be black or brown. They had shoved a rug over the stained carpets The shower was mouldy and the ceiling too. This place is in a lovely location it needs a revamp. The lovely receptionist of a morning had to run both the kitchen and the reception- which is a health and hygiene no no! They need adults to run this business successfully or im afraid it will end up being run into the ground.

By far the best hotel in Dorset, or even the UK (in my opinion) the service is exceptional, the food is to die for, the rooms are lush and the views outside are second to none. I stay there every year as a treat and will continue. This place is a hidden gem

Friendly welcome , the food order was wrong but the manger soon sorted it and couldn’t have been more apologetic. As vegans there was a few good choices and the food we had was delicious. Will definitely visit again

Amazing service, staff & breakfast. The views are breathtakingly gorgeous of Lulworth Cove and our boathouse cottage was perfect for our family of 3!! Rainy or sunny, it’s the perfect getaway & the staff care for you like family! Will come again if we ever cross the Pond again to the UK!!

The hotel has a very nice location, in the town and close to the beach. The food is good. The room was clean and tidy, but there was no WiFi. The price-performance ratio is not good. The place is beautiful, but it is purely a tourist destination, and the infrastructure is lacking.
