Went for drinks and lunch but found the staff so stuck up and snooty. Not a welcoming place. We normally go to The Grove nearby and have always had such a warm welcome there that the Langley was an unpleasant surprise. Tom Davis recently reviewed another Langley in London saying how snooty the staff were and now I see what he means.

We had a long drive, and I was looking forward to this hotel for some serious chill before our long flight the next day. Big wedding with really loud music that started at 4 pm and was still going at 6:30 pm. So much for enjoying the tranquil (not!) grounds, or the terrace where we tried to have a glass of wine. Complained about the volume but naturally no one could do anything. After 2 hours of trying to enjoy ourselves outside, we went to our room where you could still hear the music. If the hotel is going to have weddings with loud music, then they need to inform their guests of this as I would not have booked this hotel had I known that. Coworth Park is a wonderful, true 5-star hotel that is nearby and I would have stayed there again if the management had the decency to inform us of the wedding during our stay. Or, discount your rooms by 50% to account for this huge imposition. The junior manager tried to remedy this by offering a change of rooms (naturally after we unpacked everything), or 2 glasses of wine. Nice gesture, but does not remotely cover the damage done. The bathroom is a problem. The sink stopper was always closed and the only way to keep it open was to take it out-really ugly. The shampoo, etc bottles are large and on the counter. There’s only a small wire soap dish to put them on in the shower, which isn’t attached firmly to the wall, and only accommodates 2 bottles. So you need to put the 3rd bottle (shower gel) on the floor--ridiculous! So simple to put a shelf or similar to accommodate those bottles. We sat at the outdoor terrace which had dirty floors and table, and we ended up going into the bar to order wine as no one came to our table after waiting 10 minutes. Certainly not indicative of a 5-star hotel.

Absolutely gorgeous hidden gem not too far from London. I loved everything about this magnificent hotel. The staff, the grounds, the restaurant and bar, spa and even the Pygmy goats were excellent. The bartender at the Churchill Bar was so friendly and talented. The massages at the spa were so relaxing. Loved the indoor pool and jacuzzi at the spa too. The food in both restaurants was excellent! The guest services manager, Kerena went above and beyond!

What an amazing place this is, so close to London but you feel like you’re far away in the countryside. We had a truly fabulous stay here, it’s so luxurious and the staff were lovely. Having had lunch, afternoon tea, dinner and breakfast I can thoroughly recommend the food. Yes it is expensive but just look around you, it’s no run of the mill hotel it is stunning and for a special occasion I would totally recommend it.

First and foremost a huge thank you to all the wonderful staff at the Langley, for the professionalism, dedication and for the fantastic customer service. Very tranquil and certainly is a hidden gem. We stayed for one night on Easter Saturday and had a fabulous and relaxed break. The spa was lovely but felt very dark and lacked natural light. The jacuzzi jets weren’t working, the Hanuman we couldn’t see the point in?!?! The gym equipment seemed rather old and could do with an upgrade. Overall the spa was maintained to the highest standard, towels topped up and replaced frequently, all areas cleaned to the highest standards. Nothing was too much trouble and all the staff were very accommodating. The drawing room smelt of cigarettes and needs some TLC. The grounds were absolutely amazing, tranquil and well maintained. The icing on the cake for me was the gorgeous rabbits and the boisterous but lovely goats. The only negative was the breakfast, a huge disappointment which we discussed with reception and they took onboard our feedback and comments. We would definitely recommend the Langley and would return sometime…once again thank you to all the staff for making our stay a really memorable one, keep up the great work!

Fantastic hotel with beautiful grounds. Would definitely recommend for any occasion. The spa is incredible with everything you need onsite. You can hire bikes and wellington boots, they even have goats you can feed. Perfect for a romantic getaway or just for a break with the girls. The staff give outstanding customer service and there was nothing negative at all about our stay.

Just the sort of hotel I dislike. All frill, fuss and no substance. Prerequisites for a hotel (for me at least) are practicality and a degree of luxury with value. This hotel delivers overt luxury (sort of) at the expense (literally!) of everything else. There are more LEDs in the room than anyone needs or wants. It’s like Blackpool. The showers are all ‘look at me’ rather than being clean and enjoyable. The grounds and layout mean you have to walk all over for no reason. The cleaners wake you up at 7.30. They have £1000 a glass cognacs but no decent beer. Fish and chips is over £20. The meeting room is noisy with poor acoustics and no floor sockets - who does that!? Everything is over engineered to its detriment. If you long for form over substance it will be right up your street. If you want a good nights sleep, great food, a great meeting venue or fantastic service - look elsewhere. Won’t be back in a hurry.
