Swallows Rest

Just returned from 5 days at Swallows Rest totally relaxed and looking forward to returning. We are a family of two grandparents, Mum, Dad and two grandchildren aged 4 and 1 and we stayed in the 3 bedroom holiday home next to the main farmhouse. The accommodation was superb very spacious with a downstairs bedroom en suite with two bedrooms upstairs both en suite. The downstairs was open plan with kitchen, dining table and living room, very spacious and with everything you need. You have your own private garden and access to the main garden which is alive with ducks, geese and hens. There are a couple of ponds and seating in the garden as well as a hot tub. The garden is very well maintained and the whole place makes you feel so relaxed and the children loved it. The farm has fields with Horses, Sheep and Llama’s in on the walk to the coastal footpath and some lovely view out across the estuary. A taxi into Weymouth will cost you between £7 and £9 and locally there are plenty of take away restaurants some of which deliver. For us this was the perfect base from which to explore and really great for the children as the home had lots of space for them to run around in. We had a look at the bungalow for future reference and that is superb too. There is an abundant supply of fresh duck and hens eggs available to buy on site as well as honey. Lovely people who own the place who were so helpful and welcoming. Only two minor things to report, the beds were too hard for us but that is a personal thing and the hot tub attracts leaves due to the abundance of greenery surrounding it , so the kids fishing net came in handy. Can’t wait to go back , this is a lovely place to stay , you will not be disappointed.
