Nemacolin

This is a long overdue review. I held an event at Nemacolin in May 2022 with about 60 guests. This was the first event our organization held after the pandemic. The resort is spectacular. We typically do destination events at 5-star resorts 1-2X a year. Having now held several events since May 2022, I can say that Nemacolin greatly exceeded all expectations. Not only were they very reasonably priced, Nemacolin went above and beyond in the event preparations and decor. They are a one-stop-shop when it comes to events and they do absolutely beautiful work. Their rooms were spectacular. Our guests stayed at the Chateau and many commented on its beauty. It was built to resemble Versailles. I've held an event previously at Versailles in France and I can say that Nemacolin can definitely claim this statement. Cyndi was spectacular to work with on our events. Bill was the best florist we've ever worked with. We are exceedingly picky on our florals and we were blown away by Bill's presentation. Everyone at the resort was extremely friendly and welcoming. It can be difficult to find a high-end resort that's not pretentious. Nemacolin was absolutely perfect in that regard. If you go on their website, this becomes evident. They are very welcoming to everyone. There were also tons of different activities for our guests to engage upon. This made it very easy to keep them occupied and having a good time without spending time and money on group transport. We did end up taking our group to Fallingwater which was a great experience. We also took them to a local waterfall enroute which everyone enjoyed. Frankly I think Nemacolin is one of the best kept high-end resort secrets in the U.S.. We hosted some very discerning guests who travel all over the world staying at the Burj Al Arab in Dubai, etc. and they all loved it. Pulling that off with a shoestring event budget to work with is nearly an impossibility but Nemacolin beyond delivered. Very appreciated!

This was the best experience. Not only are the facilities beautiful and grand, the service is top notch, spa was extremely relaxing and the food delicious! So many things to see and do. I highly recommend!

I am currently stayin at the Nemacolin Resort. I have been going to Nemacolin Resort for years. There is no place on the east coast of the USA that can top this resort. I hate chain resorts they don't offer the person to staff ratio. Even the clientele seems to blend in with the personality and the ambiance. I am black and I only come here and bring other family member because I'm not paying $1000k per night for drama and get kicked out. If people here don't like me because of my color I can't tell. Yes I said it! Nemacolin Resort will always be my second home💝.

Everything was great. Staff were very attentive and helpful. They property is beautiful and breathtaking. There are many activities offered.

Amazing Resort, Amazing Service, Amazing Amenities!!! We truly enjoyed our time at Nemacolin Resort and Spa. It was a wonderful place to reset, refresh and reflect. We will return in the fall to explore the beautiful property.

One of the very few places that really is - perfect. Everything, in every way. We have stayed in the Chateau and the re-imagined Lodge. The Lodge is up-to-the-minute with technology, no light switches, no pulling curtains, everything is done with the touch of a button. Bathrooms are gorgeous, the food is outstanding. But what is the absolute best? The people!! Every single person, everyone, goes two steps beyond. I would see some of the butlers in the hallways, they always chatted. I would like to give a special "shout-out" to Alaya in the Chateau gift shop; Brooke & Justin, valets; and Rupesh at Fawn & Fable. Thank you, Nemacolin, for doing everything right. We look forward to seeing you again.

I always wanted to visit Nemacolin because I heard from friends that there were tons of activities to keep kids entertained. What I didn’t know was that this is a first class, top notch resort. They have thought of everything! I have stayed at Ritz Carlton’s and Nemcolin’s service and cleanliness blows them away! It was truly amazing and provided a wonderful Spring Break! I highly recommend!

Fantastic and memorable stay for our first anniversary! Will definitely come again!

We travelled as a family of 5 for spring break. We booked two adjoining suites in the Grand Lodge, one king and one with two double beds. Unfortunately the door leading to our section of the floor wouldn’t close completely, so we were unable to able to use the two suites together as intended. We let the “butler” know, and he empathized but said “they” wouldn’t fix that problem. In a newly renovated resort, that’s an odd comment. He didn’t even say it wouldn’t be fixed before we left, just that it was something maintenance wouldn’t fix. That set the tone for a week full of amazing service mixed with odd stumbles on seemingly easy items. We also had an incident early in our stay where the door to one of our rooms was open when we returned. The room hadn’t been cleaned, but our coffee from the morning had been cleaned up. We let the front desk know, and they apologized, but really, leaving our room door open is a HUGE deal! Overall housekeeping was a source of many of our frustrations with the trip. Several days when we left for the entire morning, we’d return after lunch to find the room hadn’t been cleaned yet. Turndown service always wanted to come at 5pm. We eat early, but not that early! We resorted to calling down to the front desk to request housekeeping when we wanted it. It worked, but I expect more at the price point of the Grand Lodge. This is especially true when we had reservations at resort restaurants. It would be great if that schedule was communicated to housekeeping in order to appropriately time our turndown service. These frustrations were relatively minor, though. Nemacolin excels at making really difficult things look easy. Almost every single staff member we met went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. Big shout out to Brian, the host at Aqueous, who helped us when we came into the Amber Bar chilly from a bike ride. He not only got us hot chocolate and coffee, he said it was with the compliments of the house. That gesture really made our trip feel special! The shuttle service is amazingly efficient. I don’t think we had to wait more than 5 min for a shuttle, and they often arrived within 2 minutes. The rooms in the Grand Lodge were spacious and well-appointed. The fancy bidet toilet seats were a nice surprise - something different that I haven’t seen at other high-end hotels. There is a really good mix of activities available at no extra cost: the pool, e-bike rentals, mini golf, and pickle ball were some favorites. We also did a trail ride at the equestrian center which was a lot of fun. Good was expensive but good. The sunset at Aqueous is jaw-droppingly beautiful and not to be missed. Lautrec featured exceptional service, fantastic wine pairings, but food that didn’t live up to the price tag. I would certainly return to Nemacolin, and I hope that the minor issues with maintenance and housekeeping are addressed and brought into line with the rest of the exceptional service level.
