Last minute, this place is only good if you play golf. We arrived late, no water or biscuits in room, told it wasn’t included. Bed was too hard. Small bottle of water cost £3.50 only from the bar. Had a group of 30 men here, rude loud and disgusting.
Breakfast, not bad , anything from self service was hit hard by these men eating everything that was out. Not refilled. By staff until we were leaving.

Overall wasnt a great stay, ill keep it short and sweet and list positives and negatives rather than go into detail
Positives - All staff friendly and helpful, nice location, if you can book a deluxe room so you get a first floor room with outside table and chairs and a view of the golf course. Trea**ent and spa faciltes were good though theres no jaqoozi. Comfy bed!
Negatives - Organisation, i had spa day and lunch, it wasnt explained about where lunch was or what was included i had to ask all the questions. I wasnt told the £15 limit for lunch so i went over and they then expected me to pay the difference but they agreed it was unfair. Room cleanliness, bathroom wasnt great, nail clippings on floor and 100’s of small hairs all around the bath after someones shave! Room was very warm and it wasnt even that hot outside, take a fan in hot weather! Food prices very high for what you get, nothing special! Took 30 mins to get my drink at dinner and 65 mins to get my burger and chips, apparantly staff were off sick and there was a new bar man who delayed drinks
I wouldnt go back for the price you have to pay and what you get

Great location for a short break. Excellent leisure facilities. Not far from Shrewsbury which is definitely worth a visit being almost encircled by the River Severn. Look forward to staying again and exploring more of Shropshire.

Stayed here for a wedding at another local venue; on arrival at 12pm, my room was ready so was able to check in early with no problems. Staff were friendly and polite. Room was fine; comfortable and spacious. Overall, not a bad price for a Friday night.

We have just enjoyed an excellent stay..Lovely hotel and accommodation. Staff are all friendly and helpful. I am recovering from cancer and major surgery so was allocated an accessibility room. Staff made sure my stay was as comfortable as possible. A special mention to Brie and Karla the two lovely bar staff who were super lovely and made sure we had a prime seat and our drinks were topped up for the football match on TV…Would highly recommend a stay at this beautiful golf resort

Amazing staff especially colin and beth who went above and beyond their duties to make it such a memorable stay,the hotel was excellent the food was very well served and the breakfast was hearty,plenty of parking space and well located,thank you all very much for your excellent service.

Spent 3 nights (9/10/11 May 2024) here for our society's annual trip. We played the Emerald course twice and also had a round at Portal Premier. Owing to some recent good weather the course is beginning to get back to where it should be at this time of year. We got to play it twice in the sunshine and that's good enough for me. Apart from the golf I really enjoyed the venue. The room was clean and a very good size. The bed was comfortable and the shower wasn't a pointless dribble. Somehow didn't get the time to try out the pool and spa. Breakfast was good, and I had plenty. Bacon, sausage and eggs always starts the day off right. Coffee was nice too. We were looked after by the staff and although the bar was a little pricey it's not really that far to walk into Whitchurch. Getting a taxi back could be a bit hit and miss so might be worth booking in advance. We were well looked after and Colin especially, along with Beth, Zoe and couple of others (sorry didn't get all the names), really made sure everything went smoothly. The only downer on the whole weekend was missing the Northern Lights but can't blame anyone but me for that!

We didn't stay in the hotel this time but we will be going back and staying in June with a large group of people, Sally in the hotel was extremley helpful showing us around and Brian in the pro shop was just amazing, very accommodating towards our needs,

cannot not fault the hotel or golf course, greetings and assistance from reception (BETH) and also the breakfast staff , Victoria and Colin the manager, Colin went out of his way to make sure everything was working for us, very much appreciated.
