My wife and I spent the weekend here. The location is great. Husum is very close to White Salmon, Hood River, great hiking, wild flowers in the spring, etc. There was a dinner at the inn Saturday that looked great—we had other plans. The inn is quiet & charming. The hosts are very warm and welcoming, and they pay attention to all the details. Classy place. Great breakfast. Would definitely visit again!

This charming small inn is a wonderful alternative to the crowds in Hood River. It's quiet in its rural setting, with the distant sound of a rooster during the day. Our room was very pretty, clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. We always appreciate being able to make tea in our room! The patio looks lovely but we didn't make us of it as the weather was still a bit cool. Our hosts were super friendly and helpful too! The location is ideal for hiking in the Gorge, and the town of White Salmon has some excellent dining options and good wine bars.

My husband and I had the most lovely stay at Ruby June Inn. Chris and Gretchen go above and beyond to ensure a great stay, including a grounds tour, a delicious breakfast each morning, activity recommendations, gorgeous accommodations, and facilitating a warm and inviting energy. It was our first time visiting the area, and we had the best time thanks to our hosts recommendations. We had the good fortune to stay on a weekend where Chris and Gretchen were hosting a Chef's Dinner. Our private dining experience was unlike anything we've experienced before. Delicious food and wine accompanied with attentive and thoughtful service - truly a one-of-a-kind offering. We are already looking forward to a return trip. Thank you Ruby June for a relaxing and magical stay!

My wife and I have had the pleasure of staying at RubyJune 4x over the last few years. Mostly recently, Gretchen and Chris hosted us for a private dinner and weekend stay with our close friends for my 50th birthday. They connected us with a private chef and were the most wonderful hosts. Thank you for helping create precious memories and sharing your beautiful place!

The owners, Chris and Gretchen, are absolutely wonderful! The property is incredibly charming and feels like you’re in the European countryside. I wish I had been able to stay more than one night and I cannot wait to return for a longer visit!

This one is hard to describe. Yes, elegant & thoughtfully created: Furnishings, linens, setting beautiful & comfortable. All of it worthy of a spread in Architectural Digest! Also, this is the first inn that we have been to with a meticulously curated soundtrack that surrounds you as you sip wine in the restored icehouse or on the vine covered patio with private seating areas throughout. We were lucky enough to stay during one of their popular Chef collective dinners and were treated to an array (5 courses) of culinary delights, a fusion of New Orleans and Pacific Northwest. Each dish was paired with a unique wine offering ranging from traditional to quirky. Chris & Gretchen kept us comfortable, entertained & well-fed with great breakfasts. As a bonus, the last five years of the music playlists are available on Spotify, each hours long, so the vacation never has to end! Can’t wait to visit again.

Simultaneously sweet and sophisticated, I can't imagine that we could have found accommodations better suited to our preferences in the Columbia River Gorge. The RubyJune's courtyard, which is the centerpiece of the property, is incredibly inviting (and Insta-worthy) at any time of day with fresh cut flowers, a variety of seating arrangements, a collection of colorful table linens, breezy music and bistro lights strung about the pergola. Our room (highly recommend #6, though all looked beautiful) was spacious and beautifully designed with lovely, eclectic furnishings and finishes. The sheets were high quality and we appreciated the linen duvet. The cool evenings provided the opportunity to sleep with our windows open and listen to the sound of the White Salmon River immediately across the street (light sleepers may notice the sounds of occassional trucks passing by as well). A variety of options were offered for breakfast -- from fresh fruit, to hard boiled eggs to delicious scones from a local bakery. Chris and Gretchen are incredibly welcoming, provided great suggestions for dining and activities in the area, and achive the right balance between engaging with guests and offering privacy. The inn is located within easy access to Hood River, but we appreciated being in a quieter area -- and White Salmon has it's own little collection of great dining options and conveniences. The highlights of our time in the area, in addition to The RubyJune Inn, included "pizza night" at The White Salmon Bakery, biking the Mosier Twin Tunnels, white water rafting with Wet Planet (right next to The RubyJune), visiting Cor Cellars (all of which were suggested by Chris and Gretchen) and the scenery -- virtually everywhere.
