Room had unusual layout, very quirky - spacious, good TV, bed was very comfy, bathroom big. Downsides - Toilet flush was very selective on working, shower wouldn't produce any water this morning but did work the night before

Review There are some major issues with this hotel. First of all- not sure whether this is classed as a 4 star hotel- at most would be 3. We stayed in the suite called the - believe it or not the bed was two singles put together! Absolutely shocking to classify this as a suite, room was hot and pillows were dated and old. No ventilation in the bathroom and the ceilings were peeling and felt old. The entire hotel felt dated and very old. Grounds are nice but some of the swings and benches had moss growing so couldn’t really appreciate the gardens. We had dinner at the restaurant, the service was quite bad. After the food was served we didn’t really have anyone to check whether things were going ok and at the end of the meal we had to get up and ask for the bill- no one was attentive. We were told the bill will be issued at checkout so we wouldn’t even know the breakdown of the meal! It’s a hotel and restaurant geared for weddings only and people who dine here are dining for the tasting menu for the wedding. We didn’t feel welcomed at all which is a shame. Food was subpar. Wouldn’t eat here again unfortunately. We were here for a wedding and wouldn’t actively come back to stay here again, the hotel really needs an update. Lifts also were not working. The worst thing was the creaky floorboards everywhere particularly the room above us- it was like they were in the room with us running marathons. We did not get a peaceful sleep at all and cannot wait to get back home tomorrow. The pillows were flat as a pancake despite putting two together- both my wife and I had a neck ache the next morning. Can’t say much for breakfast as we haven’t been down yet but not hopeful. They also claim they have high speed internet- it’s probably worst than my 4G, barely have download of 10mpbs. Overall not a great hotel and stay- wouldn’t recommend. I’d recommend going to the McDonald SPA hotel which is down the road. I’m hoping the general manager has a look into this feedback as I am wanting a refund for the stay which i am clearly not happy about. If not will raise an issue with my card supplier.

Me and my husband decided to book nunsmere hall as a relaxing night away to catch up on some well needed zzz after getting our baby minded for the night. What a waste of money. Firstly we arrived late so ordered hot drinks at the bar (hot chocolate) to which we waited over half an hour for. We were put in a room called “yew” room number 103 (please avoid this room if you want to sleep) when we arrived it was boiling hot as the radiators had been on full blast and the windows wouldn’t stay open to air it out. all night long all we could hear were the chairs from the restaurant being dragged across the wooden floor. 11.30pm I had enough and went to reception, the man on receptions response was “you’re above the restaurant it’ll quieten down soon” after the third time of me asking he finally agreed to move our room to a quieter part of the hotel. Breakfast - we paid for this with our booking. We needn’t have bothered. It was cold and stale as though it had been left under a hot lamp all morning. The milk for the coffee had floaters in it despite being changed. I would avoid this hotel at all costs.

We held our wedding celebrations here on the 6th April 2024, what can I say other than it was perfect! My Wife and I couldn't have asked for a better day, we where so well looked after By Joel, Alice, Annie and the team, all of our friends and Family have commented on how amazing the day was and how lovely the food was. I can't recommend Nunsmere Hall enough from the initial booking right up to the day itself nothing was to much trouble, we had serval guests that had dietary requirements and these where all catered too with no issue. It truly is a beautiful venue with amazing staff, if we could rate it higher we most definitely would. Thank you all so much Mr & Mrs Rogers

We stayed in room 37 "Petunia" wonderful views over the formal gardens and the lake behind , our Groupon deal included a £40 voucher for food which was very good though a very limited menu . Breakfasts were super on both quality of ingredients and presentation

*AVOID for a wedding* especially larger weddings and *do not use the hotel bedrooms*. Terrible experience for our wedding in Aug 2023 and we wrote to the hotel management and were promised a reply but then nothing came. 6 months later and I’d rather warn couples do not get married here. It was really awful from a hotel management perspective. Here are the main issues we faced which caused undue stress on the day: -mother of the bride was made to swap bedrooms right before the ceremony started as she had been checked into the wrong room by hotel staff and told she had to immediately pack up and move rooms -numerous guests checked into the wrong bedrooms and then rudely told it was their fault -we were charged £10 each for guests who forgot to return their hotel key cards at checkout, I can find no written policy about this (but they take a £30 deposit for each bedroom which they seem to find some reason or other to not return!) -we had booked adjoining rooms for some guests with children but the staff couldn’t locate the key to open the adjoining doors -we had use of the library in the dry hire as a room for photos and for guests to relax in after the ceremony- it was full of stacks of chairs and storage from the wedding the day before so could not be used -when guests asked for directions or simple questions the hotel staff said they can’t answer as they are not involved in the wedding (which is true as it is dry hire but they can still tell a guest which way to the marquee) Overall a really poorly managed hotel with some rude staff members - not fit for weddings the size it tries to host. They also run their weddings completely back to back so will be kicking your guests out on the dot at checkout even if they are just waiting in the lobby for their taxi. The grounds are nice for photos but that doesn’t make up for the rudeness towards guests and poor service. Using this venue made our wedding day infinitely more stressful than it needed to be. Not worth the money they charge. Really poor service.

This would be our 3rd visit and it was truly wonderful and festive. A lovely warm welcome and the room was very spacious and quiet. The first Xmas away from home and we will remember this how wonderful it was decorated. Food was delicious the Xmas Eve meal was better than the beef we had Xmas day. Our hamper in our room of food was like opening a Xmas present. Full off surprises and treats personalised to our diet requirements. Will always rate coming here as a peace and safe haven from the rush of today’s society.

This was our 4th visit to Nunsmere through Groupon and as usual, our stay was amazing. I absolutely love this hotel is has so much character. We have never stayed in the same room. This time we were in Tamarind on the 3rd floor. The rooms we have stayed in have always been amazing such beautiful decor and the bathrooms are huge. This time we didn't have the evening meal as we were meeting family and had booked at another restaurant. Breakfast was lovely no buffet here all cooked to order. Very friendly staff. Can't wait until our next visit.
