The Barnsdale, Rutland

We went for an impromptu Friday lunch, having not been for many years and having previously had a lovely meal there. The hotel and restaurant had a nice and relaxed vibe and the staff were friendly and welcoming. We were served by Diane and Tessa who were helpful, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. The hotel is undergoing lots of outdoor works and it will be great to see how it transforms. The new Events Barn is looking very smart and a certain step up from its previous incarnation!

I attended the Artisan market at the Barnsdale. Great venue, the barn looked impressive and the local stalls were great, topped off with coffee in the relaxing hotel, great to see the hotel flourishing once again a great asset to Rutland. Special thanks to Cody for the service and humour.

We stayed for two nights at the Barnsdale to celebrate a significant wedding anniversary, and could not have made a better choice. With unseasonably cold weather, the Barnsdale was always warm and welcoming and that goes for both the atmosphere and the staff. Our room was lovely with a very comfortable bed and everything we could have wanted (except for the ginger liqueur, which although a nice touch, was way too spicy for us!). Our meal in the restaurant was extremely good and a special mention goes to CJ and Cameron who looked after us in such a kind and friendly way without ever failing to deliver good service. All in all, highly recommended and we can't wait to return.

Food is really good and the staff are all friendly and helpful. We have stayed there since before the refurbishment which has now made it very smart. Breakfast is generous, efficiently made and like dinner can be taken in the marvellously open conservatory style dining area. In the morning we had early sun streaming in and a red kite visible overhead. In the evening it feels cosy with strings of lights and a lovely atmosphere.

Had a meal in the restaurant, which we all really enjoyed, such lovely food and service was impeccable (served by Cameron). Room was comfortable and quiet and breakfast was lovely too. We will definitely return as we had such a great time. Thank you

We had a wonderful experience at the Barnsdale for lunch on Mothers Day. We were brilliantly looked after from the moment we arrived to when we left. We started with a few drinks in the bar and the complimentary glass of champagne for my mum was a lovely touch. The food was absolutely delicious and definitely one of the best roasts I have had. The restaurant had a lovely atmosphere and the wine list was great with some very reasonable wines to choose from. Overall we had a fantastic afternoon and can’t wait to come back for a roast again soon.

Our Dancefit group have coffee every Friday. A big shout out to Diane, who looks after us so well. Nothing is too much trouble. She’s always happy to see us all, and the coffee orders every week are spot on! Thank you Diana for making our complicated coffee orders every week!

We have the most wonderful service every Friday when our exercise group calls in afterwards for coffee. Diane looks after us all so very well and as a result, we love going there! She remembers what we like and is very efficient and organised - great job, Diane!

Spent 2 nights here and everything was great. Gorgeous looking property throughout, inside and out. Plenty of easy parking, comfy rooms. Great food and drink in the restaurant and bar. We had dinner there both nights. CJ, THANK YOU so much for looking after us and showing great patience with our food intolerances. Thanks all for a great stay
