Foreshore Motor Inn

I am in Whyalla often for work and always stay here. It is the only hotel on the foreshore and I love waking up in the morning to the water views and walking along the foreshore with the dolphins. The hotel is exactly what you would expect from a country motel at this sharp price. Clean, good shower, crisp linen and friendly reception staff. Restaurant is closed, I used to love eating here, although it was a special occasion place as it was a bit $$. A cafe has opened next door so I grab meals here. Pool is closed but as a business traveller I never have time to use it. Special mention to Katherine who is always so nice to me on check in, Cant wait to see the new development whenever it gets off the ground ... in the mean time as I am FIFO this is where I stay,

This accommodation is a huge con. We booked online without making any checks - encouraged to do so by the site declaring there were 3 others looking to book at the same time with only 5 rooms available. We were there on a sunday night and only one other room was occupied. Reception was closed. No one onsite in the morning. The pool was empty on a warm to hot day. Refrigerator in the room was turned off. The key photo is totally deceptive. Please ensure potential future guests are warned.

Don’t believe the first photo you see on Tripadvisor. It looks nothing like that. It’s basically a rundown motor inn- the kind you see in scary American movies. At night it’s SUPER DARK AND QUIET. As I was travelling alone I was pretty scared and made sure my door was locked the whole time. The restaurant is permanently closed. Nothing to eat or drink. I had to Door Dash (delivery app) my dinner. Breakfast was just a box of milk and cereal packet. When I checked in at 5pm, reception was already closed. All deserted. There was number to call and Katherine was quite helpful. The key retrieved was for a room that was still occupied! I opened the door and there were clothes and luggage around. Good thing nobody was around. So Katherine had to come by and give me a new key. The room is very very old. Bathroom also very old- the tap is not a mixer. So you either have very hot water on one side or very cold water on the other. Thank God the shower had hot water! Bed sheets are questionable. All in all I would recommend this inn at all.

Lovely room with very comfortable beds, updated decor' and we slept like a baby. We had a recently renovated bathroom with the best shower ever and soft towels that smelt like a fresh garden. Nice treat after a long drive. Barbara (Manager) kindly took our call long after admin hours as we needed last minute arrangements and was most hospitable. The lovely lady who was at the breakfast bar when I handed in my key, greeted me with a friendly smile early in the morning and was very welcoming. It was a very short and sudden trip for us, but we would definitely stay there again. Thank you Barbara and all of your staff.

I was travelling through from Adelaide to Port Lincoln .Years ago I liked this place,so I booked it .It is in a good location. 160 a night. However ...there has been no upgrade since ...a long time ago. The room was tired ,the very ,very old air-conditioner/ heater too noisy. I'm glad I was only there for a night .The room was depressingly old fashioned . The restaurant whiting i had was nice but priced toooooo high...50ish if I wanted 2 pieces.

Excellent Location is a big plus point Receptionist is new and recently moved to Whyalla but extremely knowledgeable and helpful. She recommended to watch boats coming in to see dolphins following the boats. We saw three dolphins Mattress must be as old as motel is. Really uncomfortable on both the beds (on Queen and Single Beds). This is a NO NO. If Mattress gets changed then I will give 5 stars in review
