Tangiers Resort Motel

Nice motel in Wildwood Crest. Big pool, cute cafe on property, clean and close to the beach. Read lots of negative reviews on here, but we were pleasantly surprised. This motel isn’t fancy or incredibly modern (like most properties in Wildwood), but the room was functional and clean, the pool was large with nice lounge chairs, and having a cafe on-site was a bonus. We enjoyed a nice breakfast. Short trip to the beach. One tip: BYO k-cups. Our room had a Keurig, but no Kcups (this may have been an oversight).

We wanted to stay here for years. No giant chess set like in pictures, place was so dirty, beds were hard as rocks, diner was only breakfast, no hot water or pressure, free wifi doesn't reach the rooms so there's none and woman at front desk was off putting and not friendly. We plan to never stay here again.

Absolutely brilliant for families - clean, functional room, pool, close to beach. All guests friendly and family-oriented - lovely community atmosphere at the Tangiers. Annemarie couldn’t have been more accommodating in peak season. Thank you!

Awful place. Non-smoking room smelled like **** the second we walked into the room, silver paint spray-painted over rusty faucets. Staff at check-in was unfriendly/surly, parking for only one vehicle, cash only at the breakfast cafe (sketchy for owner’s tax purposes). Not worth the price.

Rooms very clean. The bathroom could use updating. Quiet neighborhood. Very nice pool. Staff very pleasant and helpful. On site Cafe serves breakfast and lunch. It is very convenient and reasonably priced.

After several days of calling to book a room,I finally got thru. I was very disappointed. The room was very clean but the mattress was awful, hard as a brick. The carpet by the door was ripped and wet. I was charged $30 more per night than quoted. Manager refused to credit us. I tried going to the gift shop several times, it's part of the office. It was never open. I found out upon arriving the manager takes the reservations via calls. If so, maybe answer the phone. If this motel were free, I wouldn't stay.

The setting, city and old medina are pretty but the food is standard and lacks any variety. It’s all tagine, cous cous, bread and mint tea. We got bored with it after 24 hours. On a walk around the city we got followed by a “tour guide” with an official looking badge. We relented and agreed €60 to various sites and rides. We spent a day on a standard cave tour, camel ride, photo opportunities etc etc , usual tourist trap. At the end of a bewildering 3 hours he (Aziz) demanded €80 and a €29 tip!! The extra €20 for trying so hard and taking photos of us which he offered to do. To get away from him we paid up. The next day another one followed and harassed us around the northern part of the medina. It ended up in a full blown argument and shouting. Disgraceful behaviour from some of the male locals. They have no tact, diplomacy or honesty it seems. Personally I would never set foot here again. Keeping to the European side of the mediterranean from now on. I deleted my photos and don’t regret it one bit.

You CAN NOT CHECK IN OR PARK IN THEIR LOT UNTIL 4 pm No exceptions!!! This was after we were told we could check in early ( 2pm). We had to find off street parking a block away. Ching Ching cost of meter parking ! I have seen reviews of this hotel stating how outdated everything was. The furniture was very nice, and the room was immaculate, thanks to their housekeeping staff. The room smell very musty. We opened the bathroom window and the front door. Refer to the pictures I posted for the following: Note there was an almost full damp rod bag near the AC unit. The bathroom was outdated, with rust on the sink. The sink hot and cold knobs were in weird positions. The toilet was super slow to flush. Sometimes needing several flushes. The shower had really bad water pressure. It was like someone hold a watering can over you. The water would go from freezing cold to scalding hot in seconds and cycled like that throughout the shower. I never felt like I got clean enough. The beds were rock hard. I took the 2 extra blankets and comforter and folded them in half to make a more tolerable sleep. The pillows were just as bad. The swimming pool was nice, except for the thick scum on the tiles. One night some guest decided to play football in the pool leaving other guest pinned in corners. The 2 nice things were the other guests ( except for the footballers), and housekeeping. Their restaurant was not worth it. I ordered 1 egg with 1 slice of toast but got charged for a full breakfast meal $10

The staff was great and very helpful!! The room was comfortable and everyone made sure I had everything I needed. Super close to the beach and the café had great food! I will definitely be going back!!
