Das Hotel Seerose wurde zusammen mit 4 sehr ähnlichen, eher kleinen Hotels im typisch norddeutschen Backsteinbau direkt am Südstrand von Wilhelmshaven um das Jahr 1900 erbaut, als ein Badeurlaub in Mode kam. Um 2005 wurde es dann grundlegend restauriert und seit dem auf dem neuesten Stand und total sauber gehalten. WLAN, TV und Dusche / WC sind selbstverständlich, ebenso ein reichhaltiges Frühstücksbuffet mit allem Erdenklichen wie Grumble Egg usw. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich. Vor dem Hotel befindet sich die Uferpromenade, dann folgt der Rasenstrand. Hinter dem Hotel ist der Parkplatz. Eine echte Ebbe gibts in Wilhelmshaven nicht, sondern die Nordsee reicht immer bis ans Ufer. In der Nähe und zu Fuß zu erreichen gibt es das Aquarium, ein Marinemuseum und eben die Promenade mit Restaurants. Die Barrierefreiheit hängt von den Umständen ab. Sehr empfehlenswert!

Die Strandkörbe laden nach einem Bummel über die Promenade zum Kaffee- oder Teetrinken ein zumal es preiswerte Angebote für eine Kaffe+Kuchen-Kombination gibt. Der Service ist allerdings nicht sonderlich Aufmerksam und man sollte Zeit mitbringen.
