The Colonies at Williamsburg

My stay at this location was excellent to drive to Historic Williamsburg and other locations. My checkin went smooth but to my surprise the rooms are outdated and need of a renovation. I need to set my CPAP machine on the night stand but there are no outlets available. I returned to the front desk and asked if I could borrow an extension cord and was told curtly that "I need to buy my own" as they do not lend out items. They would not have to lend anything if they upgraded their furnishings to the 21th Century. Lamps at each side of the bed simply have an on/off switch, Unlike other Gold Crown Resorts I have exchanged for their lamps are not equipped with extra plugs for additional appliances nor posts for cell phone charging. I took four photographs of my unit: Bedroom, Bathroom, Living Room and Kitchen. The Kitchen was the most welcoming of all rooms as it was fully furnished and up to date with standard appliances. The other rooms need updated furniture. My bed looked like someone had used it, no bedspread and five tiny pillows. This exchange was a disappointment. My unit was on the second floor of a building that must be used to show perspective buyers around. The units were open every day 24/7 as well as the front door unless I closed it properly. I would leave for the day and find it open again in the evening. The touring models were much better looking in the bedroom than mine. GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER! YOU DO NOT DESERVE A GOLD CROWN RATING!

Traveled to Williamsburg and stayed at the Colonies of Williamsburg for a last minute getaway. The resort is clean and well maintained. Enjoyed the pool and the location to Colonial Williamsburg and several restaurants, wineries and brewpubs as well as the shopping Outets. The unit was clean and fairly well maintained with only minor issues. Appliances were in good working order and relatively new. We would certainly stay there again.

Quiet and space.

Loved the pool and the complimentary hot chocolate! A little stingy with pool toys, the noodles. Other than that, all was well.

The colonies is a perfectly situated location for a family visit to The historic triangle area. The price was unbeatable and the staff were pleasant and helpful. my rating was due to the fact that the property is definitely in need of a major upgrade: frayed carpeting, sticking drawers, door hinge in our bedroom misaligned . If i had a family vacation planned i would have no hesitation recommending the Colonies Indoor and outdoor pool, hot tub and plenty of open space.:. Just dont expect a new property . .

Overall, a very spacious and well-maintained resort which allows dogs. 10-15 minute drive to Colonial Williamsburg.

The Colonies at Williamsburg provided a very pleasant and comfortable experience for us from start to finish. Booking was a breeze, as was check check in. The unit was more than comfortable. The rooms were large, clean and updated. The location was perfect for our needs. The amenities at the Colonies are enough for a family with children. We will definitely return to The Colonies at Williamsburg.

Great place to stay! Highly recommend. Clean, quiet and comfortable. This is our second visit to the resort and no complaints from either stay. They were very accommodating to our during our stay and we will use again when in the area.
