Absolutely wonderful stay. Despite our late arrival, the staff was able to get us a reservation in the tavern the next day for our wedding anniversary. Additionally, they surprised us by having a chilled bottle of apple cider and two champagne flutes in our room.❤️🥰

The Ewing Shop is a 200 square foot, stand alone building located in Williamsburg's Historic Area. It's an absolute gem! My husband and I chose it for our wedding anniversary trip for the privacy (no kids running up and down the halls) and ease of access to Duke Of Glouchester St. The room did not disappoint! The interior is furnished with Colonial-style furniture including a very comfortable four-poster bed. There is a fireplace as well, although we visited in the Spring after they light it. The bathroom was spacious and included a walk-in shower with amazing water pressure! The room was cleaned everyday - just a great 'home-base' for our getaway. The Ewing Shop features a covered porch with a bench, so we could sit outside and enjoy the view of the Windmill and listen to the birds. The last night we were there is rained, and the sound of the rain falling on the brick path outside lulled me into the best sleep ever!

First trip to Williamsburg and wasn't sure what to expect. So glad we chose this place to stay! GROUNDS: Right in the thick of the colonial section, Views of all the historic properties and sections. Absolutely gorgeous common areas, hotel, spa, pools. Well kept landscapring. ROOM: Stayed in colonial home on the upper floor. Very spacious, clean, and modernized technology. House is very old so if you have allergies, you might be sensitive to the old, slightly musty scent of the room. Bed is a little firm, not soft. You get a real key to your room - no key cards. AMENITIES: LOVE the pool area. Very spacious, serene, well stocked with white towels, and water on hand. Hope to try the spa next time. SERVICE: Front desk is very professional, helpful, service-oriented. Would definitely stay again!

It's great to stay in the colonial area and to stay in a period building. It's part of the charm. Lovely appropriate furniture, with the addition of a cabinet for a refrigerator and for the tv. The best of both worlds.

The location of the house is perfect! You are right in the center of everything. The house is surprisingly spacious and the bed was comfortable. There were a few issues that hopefully they’ll address since we reported them. There wasn’t much hot water, the bathroom ceiling had paint peeling, and the floor in the kitchen area had a section that splintered. Other than those few items we really enjoyed our stay and plan to visit again!

We find staying in the Colonial Houses allows ready access to the Colonial Williamsburg activities and historical properties provides somewhat of the experience of living in Williamsburg during the 1700s but with modern amenities.

Girls weekend. My friend and I each got a room in the Market House. We felt safe walking at night and the location was right in the middle of town.

Had a great stay, was in one of the residences in the colonial town. It was very nice, clean and it is wonderful to wake up and be in the middle of so much history and ambience. Really enjoyed it.
