I recently spent a delightful 7-night business vacation at The Verandah Resort & Spa in Antigua, staying in a Waterfront King Suite. Room Comfort and Cleanliness: The beds and pillows in my suite were fantastic, ensuring a comfortable sleep every night. The room was clean, but it could use some upgrades, as there were minor maintenance issues. One downside was that the fridge was not stocked with water or drinks, which is typically expected in an all-inclusive resort. Housekeeping visited every two days, which was sufficient. The view from the room was amazing, and the patio chairs were a nice touch for enjoying the scenery or morning coffee. Amenities: Our group took full advantage of the pool and beach facilities. The resort features two beaches: the ‘chill beach’ with a lunch and drinks area and plenty of loungers, and another stunning beach "lovers beach" accessible via stairs, which might be challenging for those with mobility issues. Both beaches were beautiful and well-equipped with loungers. The swim rings provided added a fun element, allowing us to relax in the water with drinks. The on-property coffee shop was a pleasant surprise. The refresher drinks and iced coffees were delicious; I recommend asking for the coffee's half-sweet. However, the lack of room service might be a deal breaker for some guests. The resort offers some sort of entertainment each evening such as a singer, band, karaoke, games night, DJ etc. There is also another bar area that shows multiple sports. Dining: Our group dined at all the restaurants, with Sails and Tails being my favorite. This covered, open-air restaurant served an amazing Bisque soup and delicious fish. Nicole’s specialty restaurant was also a highlight, despite the $40 USD sur-charge. The lobster was exquisite, and the pumpkin brûlée was to die for. Breakfast was buffet-only, featuring the sweetest Black Pineapple, an omelet station, and other traditional fare. The café offered delightful muffins, sausage rolls and fruit. Overall, there were no complaints about the food at any of the various restaurants and buffet. Service Quality: The staff throughout the resort were friendly and accommodating, adding to the pleasant atmosphere. The check-in ladies could have taken more time to explain the resort and amenities but everything was in the welcome package located in the welcome gift. Location and Accessibility: The resort is expansive and situated on a hill, which means a lot of walking is required. While there are shuttles available, they require some patience. This setup is not ideal for those with mobility issues. Additionally, the resort has a boat for excursions. So many wonderful things to see on the island and it doesn't take long to get anywhere. Unique Features: The rooms are charming duplex like cabins with tropical and Caribbean names, adding a unique and delightful touch to the accommodation experience. Each cabin offers privacy and even at 95% occupancy it doesn't feel over
