Cambria Hotel Lake Placid - Lakeside Resort

The room and property was great! Didn’t like the cold water in the pool!

During our stay we had no hot water one morning so that was a bit of an annoyance. I heard there was a power outage in part of the hotel so I'm guessing that is what caused there to be no hot water.

The hotel had a nice room, which was well appointed and had everything you could possibly need. One major omission from this property is a sauna/hot tub. I can’t think of one hotel property in Lake Placid that doesn’t have both of those so it seemed a little weird in a cold weather town that they wouldn’t. The breakfast buffet left a lot to be desired, hopefully they can get a regular breakfast menu from the kitchen going soon. -clean room, priced right, but missing a few amenities.

Overall we were very happy with the quality of the room, cleanliness and service. There were only a couple of things....1) when booking the room, we thought we had booked one with a balcony, but only specific rooms came with that feature. Although there is an open balcony on each floor so no biggee just would have been nicer if it had been clear. 2) There was a staffing issue. We had planned on a later dinner at the hotel restaurant, only to find that the front desk had not told us the restaurant was closed due to an event and lack of staff. (Would have been much easier to know this in the morning as we would have adjusted.) 3) You have to request housekeeping. Again for a short stay...did not matter to us, but worth knowing in advance as it is not common. Beautiful location...extremely clean...Very quiet (And that says a lot since the 3 days we stayed it was packed with Alpine ski teams (which would normally be very loud.). Indoor pool has late hours which is convenient, is very clean and lovely. (Lovely after a long day of hiking...)
