Be careful when booking this hotel. There is no front desk, and check-in depends entirely on phone calls, which is similar to the underground party. I took a shower for 10 minutes in the middle of the night and there was no hot water. I was embarrassed to call with a head full of shampoo. At first I apologized, feeling embarrassed to disturb others at night, but the store owner was very impatient and said that I had run out of hot water. After asking for the room number, I was asked to restart the water heater in the gray cabinet on the pink wall and wait for 20 minutes before hot water came out. I tried to explain that there was no pink wall and gray cabinet in the room, only white wall and white cabinet, but was interrupted twice by the other party, who shouted: "Don't talk! You are not listening to me!!! Listen to me!!!" Damn, I haven't seen such accommodation conditions and service attitude in so many years. My friend lives in another room, and he also ran out of hot water halfway through his shower this morning. There are many accommodation options. Don't choose this one if you don't want to suffer and be angry. In addition, I praise Ctrip's after-sales customer service, who is very serious in helping to solve problems.

The biggest advantage is that it is close to the station. If you arrive late at night, you can get there in a few steps after getting off the train. The room is OK. There is a big supermarket at the station

Apart from the convenient location, there are no advantages. I met other guests at the door and they said that booking will send a check-in code, but Ctrip did not. I called the hotel three times to find out, but the attitude was average. The first two times, they hung up on me for no reason.

This small hotel is close to the train station bus, and there is a tavern next to it, which is very convenient. It is on the second floor, the room is not big, but the facilities are complete and very clean. The bed is 1.3 meters, which is best for one person to sleep on, but it is a bit crowded for two people. Fortunately, it was cold. It was very quiet and I had a good rest.

If you like staying in hostels then this is definitely the place for you! Our room was shocking and you risk a limb trying to get to it via the bizarre staircase. There was a horrendous smell in our room upon arrival and the furnishings were far from sanitary. The positive was the location as it’s central to Windermere, although this would in no way entice me back here. Entry to the property via touch - sensitive keypads was an absolute nightmare- we were stood in the rain for ages trying to gain entry and the property is unmanned. Complained to the owner who basically said he could put us in a different room that was smaller and no better than the one we were in! Dirty, tired and extremely basic, smelly room. Despite the decent location I will never be returning here.

Station Lodge was clean, comfortable and bright. The heating was good and there were two sky light windows in our attic room. The shower was great, there was coffee and tea making facilities in the room and a hair dryer. It was comfortable and the bed was good. The room was very reasonably priced. It was situated in the centre of Windermere very near to a quirky bar (Crafty Baa). The room was accessed using a key pad, we found the key pad to be a bit temperamental, so you need to be patient and try it a few times. We would definitely stay there again.

I left an expensive Laura Ashley dress on the bathroom door accidentally. The owner took a week to respond and said he would look and ignored and subsequent messages. Very upset to lose my dress and the host didn't care and stole my dress blatantly.

We had no idea we would have to lug our suitcases up an outdoor metal staircase, until the day we arrived. Entry is by way of a code that has to be typed in after putting three fingers on a pad and waiting some time… imagine if it’s raining… imagine being a senior doing this! Then when we got in the room, we had to climb on a chair to close the window. The outside staircase only has one working light and no reflective strips. This is hazardous! ⚠️
