The hotel is situated 2 mins walk from the bus interchange, train station and the town centre with restaurants, bars etc, meaning we didn't have to use the car at all. Room 1 was fine apart from the toilet doing mini flushes every 7 mins, 2 lights out in the bathroom and the blind didn't block out the light from the street light outside the hotel (did mention these minor things to James) and this certainly wouldn't stop us from staying here again. The breakfast was fantastic and we enjoyed this every morning. The lady who served it (sorry didn't get her name, but she is an ex-nurse) was lovely, always had a smile and nothing was too much bother. We only had one evening meal here, but this too was really good.

This is a hotel run by an old couple. The grandpa has a very good attitude. He also helped us bring us to check in and introduce the facilities of the room. The location of the hotel is very good, a few minutes walk to the lake, supermarkets, small shops and restaurants . A parking ticket will be given to you to park in the parking lot diagonally opposite. Breakfast is also provided with a breakfast list for you to check on your own, and put it at the front desk the night before. The room is a bit small. Especially the bathroom, very small. The shower water is very hot and it can't be adjusted well! Arrived at night, plus it was raining again, I didn't find it at first, and then I went around twice and found it according to the navigation and the exterior pictures of the hotel!

Very good environment and accommodation, the whole hotel is a small resort with a very good environment. The room was clean and tidy, the apartment also had kitchen equipment and a full set of cutlery. The hotel is very close to the lake area and shopping is very close, very convenient. The Lake District is so beautiful! We will come again! recommend!

This castle hotel is 200 years old and has a very old English style. Staying in this hotel during Christmas feels romantic! Warm! Friends who accompanied me were very surprised! Room was a good size. Plenty of parking available. Swimming pool was nice. Nice view of the lake from the gardens. Very friendly staff. Lovely food. Pleasant gardens. The lounge was relaxing with nice sofa . Some minor issues: Lack of shower pressure ， toilet wouldn't flush properly, blood stain on the floor of the toilet, took ages to get hot water through for showering

This hotel is opened by two old people. The people are very kind. Because the train is late, we have exceeded the prescribed time. They also kept it for us.
