I checked in and the lady covering for the family was very kind. Checkin was easy and room very clean and accessible. When I entered the room no heat wasn’t on so extremely cold. I turned the heat on and left until late in the day. When I returned I realized the heating system was making a loud wining noise, which kept me from being able to sleep, so I turn it off. When I woke up the room was again extremely cold, so I turned the heat on and got ready for the day. When leaving I checked back in at the front desk and told them of the problem with the heater and we decided to move me to another room for my second night. I returned late on this evening and discovered there was no electricity to the entire motel. I waited it out until 11:30 and left because the room was extremely cold because there still was no electricity. I was in town for a funeral and didn’t sleep well the night before because of the heater issue and couldn’t afford to not sleep two nights in a row before an all day funeral. I went to the front desk and the office was all locked up and no one would answer the door. I left and went to another hotel in the area.
I returned early afternoon the next day and discussed the issues with my room on both nights in detail with the clerk and she chose to only refund 50% for the loss of use for the second night, after first offering 20% refund. I finally agreed just to get it over with and left. Three days later I discovered she went ahead and charged me full price.
