Alexander Mansion Bed & Breakfast

From the moment we stepped into this beautiful home we felt welcomed. Richard is an outstanding host who provided the history of the home and of Winona, along with great restaurant recommendations. The evening nightcap was a lovely touch while sitting in the sun room watching the sunset. The breakfast was outstanding with fresh fruit, warm pumpkin bread, delicious omelet and the surprise dessert. We have enjoyed both domestic and international B&B's and find that Richard and his Alexander Mansion was among the best. Thank you for your kindness and making our stay memorable.

Winona is lucky to have Richard and The Alexander Mansion. This place IS a destination itself. Every guest is treated like a royalty. Every corner of the mansion has a unique touch. It is not just homey; it is very comforting. Richard is a very fine and caring host. The breakfast is one of a kind. From the fine China to the fruit parfait to the incredible vegetable frittata to the surprise dessert at the end - everything done to perfection. Richard brought hospitality to the highest level. I cannot wait to experience this all over again.

Service was over the top excellent! Breakfast was delicious and ends with a surprise ice cream sundae. Beautiful place and just a fantastic home away from home to unwind.

I think this is the B and B I have stayed at. This is my 3rd time. The inside is beautiful. Richard the ower is probably the kindest person you will ever meet. He knows the area well to suggest restraunts. He also knows the history of the home. Amazing 4 course breakfast ending with ice cream. I am not a big ice cream person especially in the winter. I have never had an ice cream Sundae like this so good!

The host was very welcoming and the service was excellent. The history of the property was on display and the quality of the furnishings and decor was fascinating.

My wife and I greatly enjoyed our recent stay at the Alexander mansion. Richard was an incredible host being very kind and welcoming. Richard provided a great history of the property along with a tour of the nearly 10,000 square foot mansion. Richard's wealth of knowledge about things to do, places to go and where to eat were instrumental in making our getaway to Winona fantastic. Richard's recommendations for food were spot on and the restaurants in Winona that we ate at were fabulous. It was like we were in a foodie city which we had never expected for a community of that size. We thought we would make just a day trip to Winona but found there was much more time that we could have spent in the area and even in the city of Winona. The breakfast that Richard provided was absolutely delicious and provided a great experience having the opportunity to spend some time with other guests contributing to a wonderful experience. We definitely plan to return and spend at least two to three more days at the Alexander Mansion to further explore the Winona area. Highly recommended!
