Even though this is a Marriott property, i would definitely say this place is a hard pass!!
We had just left the same namesake in SC and that was a very nice hotel. This one was not. The chair at the desk was hard, the beds were lumpy and very uncomfortable and there was a scent of mildew or mold in the hotel.
In addition, in the morning, thelight filtered through the wall AC unit. Then to top it off, the staff never asked about our stay or have any inclination about caring, once way or the other.

Excellent front desk staff. Loved the quiet of my room facing a forest--no road noise! Bathroom poorly designed. Bathroom very large; counter top didnt need to be 8' long, shower too narrow and shampoos/grab bars should be located on a different wall of the shower. Towel bar didnt need to be on inside of shower nor did it need to be so deep. I spent the whole shower trying not to bang my arms into these items. Sitting area in lobby seemed cramped. Ive never seen a courtyard where the chairs are right on top of the main entrance. Must be weird sitting in that area during bad weather. Maybe in NC where it doesnt snow they can get away with this. Parking extremely convenient since spaces were such a short walk to the entrance. Was fine for a one night stay

Kyoni, who works in the Bistro, at the Marriott Courtyard - Winston Salem - University, is delightful and efficient as well as a great chef! When she serves you your food she always says, 'Enjoy . . . it was made with love". One time I stayed at a different hotel; however, I went to the one where she works for dinner because she is so pleasant. I look forward to seeing her on my next trip!

the breakfast was superb. Phyllis B Veronica M and A. Kincaid were great pleasant and kind The food was excellent the coffee was good and we received refills' The place was squeaky clean We would stay here again if the need arises. were food was prepared was very very clean
