Holiday Inn Express WINSTON-SALEM by IHG

We stayed at Holiday Inn Express Winston-Salem while visiting for a local tournament. The room was clean, comfortable, and appeared recently renovated. While some of the finishes weren’t perfect, they were still well done overall. The hotel seemed fully booked, so it did get a bit noisy at times, as sound carried through the walls and doors. Breakfast was good and met our needs, although the buffet area was smaller than expected. The seating area, however, was spacious and comfortable. I also used the laundry facilities, which was convenient. My key card didn’t initially work for access, but Patricia at the front desk was extremely friendly and assisted right away, even propping the door open so I could easily go in and out. Patricia also greeted us upon arrival and made us feel very welcome. Overall, a pleasant stay with great service.

The night time front desk recepitionist was not helpful at all. She had a terrible attitude and did not answer my questions until I repeated them multiple times. For example, when i told her I would like to make a reservation, she immediately said they were booked without even asking what date i was interested in. She incorrectly entered my entire reservation including entereing an entirely different name on my reservation. I even had to call back multiple times to request an email comfirmation (I never received it). I had to call the corporate help desk, who barely fixed the error by adding my name as a secondary guest. However, they eventually cancelled the reservation without my authorization. I had to ask a friend to go in person to make the reservation as I was coming from Virginia. The only silver lining was the day time front desk receptionist was friendlyand helpful. I would not recommend this hotel.

Check in was easy and the hotel smelled clean upon entering. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable.

The hotel was clean. The only issue was that the interstate is very loud and can hear inside of room. I was also awoken at 3am by a loud truck idling outside of my room. In which I called the front desk and made them aware and they left shortly after that.

It was just very noisy. Could hear the people above us and the ones next to us seemed very loud at times. It was convenient to what we were doing and it was clean. Staff was very friendly.

Great check-in with Patricia, spotless and spacious room, super-comfortable bed, modern amenities, updated decor, multiple items available on breakfast buffet...

Staff was courteous. The room was clean. Bed was comfortable also. My only complaint was noise from the interstate and the heat was difficult to adjust and it was cold in the room.
