I picked this location due to the 4.8 rating. We arrived after 5:00 PM and were told the room had not been cleaned but they were working on it. No problem, we went to Winthrop for dinner. Arrived back later and room appeared to be cleaned. The next morning I raised the toilet seat only to discover a poop stain. The issue was reported to a cleaning person who was in a storage room next door. She reviewed the issue and was very apologetic. She indicated a manager would call but no calls were received. Not what we expected and now wonder if sheets had been changed.

One loved property, no longer desirable. Torn between 2 or 3 stars. 2 queen bed room charged extra 40 for the 3rd person...2 cups 2 chairs at our table and a very crowded room. Door lock is broken, you have to go to another site to get help. The entry is closed you walk into a dirty stairwell with a hole in the sheet rock. Unsecured building. Lots of movies and no VCR. Beds not made correctly. Box springs exposed and the head of one bed right next to the air conditioner. Typical Hotel breakfast and the dinning room was nice.

We are no strangers to the Chewuch Inn and have loved staying there for a couples' getaway in the past over the course of several years. However, we hadn't been back since the Frank Hotels group bought it. We won't be returning after our last visit. My husband and I visited the first weekend of March and it's obvious this locale has declined. We drove for 2.5 hours to find that the hot tub, a huge draw for us, wasn't working in our cabin. It was also full of debris. Husband texted the number listed for any concerns--no response. I visited the office the next day and the front desk gal was apologetic and said something like, "These hot tubs are more trouble than they're worth. We get a lot of complaints." (Wouldn't you think that if you received a lot of complaints, you'd be hyper-vigilant about ensuring they worked?) She told me she'd sent out a maintenance person to look at it, and that she was sure we could get at least 15% of our money back. Not idea, but okay. Well, the hot tub never ended up working, and no manager was ever on site to discuss a refund. A week and a half later, we have received no response to any phone calls, texts, or emails. The non-functional hot tub, ants inside the cabin, and lackluster customer service were pretty unimpressive. Read the other reviews that mention breakfast amenities running out, dysfunctional hot tubs, and lack of cleanliness--you'll get an accurate picture. It seems like the Frank Hotels group completely ignores any feedback. For over $700 for the weekend, I had higher expectations.

My wife and I have stayed here quite a few times in the last 10 years, but this was the last. We were very disappointed on this trip. We reserved a cabin, specifically chose one with a hot tub so we could have a nice relaxing getaway on the anniversary of our first date. The owners must've sold because check-in is now at another location down the road, not really out of the way but a little odd. When we get to the cabin, I go to check the hot tub and it is uncovered, filled with pine needles and pine cones and ice cold. Inside the cabins are looking a little run down compared to previous stays, unfinished/poor fitting cabinetry and other little things like that. Not a huge deal but when you pay $350/night I would definitely expect better. You get an automated text on check-in that says to report any problem just reply, so I informed them of the hot tub issue at about 430ish, said they were monitoring it until 8pm. Never heard back and when we swung by the other location to talk to someone, it was already closed up. Next morning we go back to the other location and let them know, they sent someone to check it out, cleaned it but it was still not warming up by the evening. Checking out on Sunday, I once again talked to the front desk(at the separate location), she was very apologetic and said a manager would be in touch to talk about a little discount on the stay, but they wouldn't be in till noon, never heard back. On Tuesday, tried contacting the hotel about the issue and still have not heard back. They do still have a pretty good breakfast, I'll give them that much.

We stayed at Chewuch a few years ago and loved it - a classic B&B run by a local couple, nicely appointed and good breakfast. We booked it again in December 2025, and when we arrived there was no one on the property except for a few staff who were just leaving. They helped us get into the room, which was pretty shabby, and reeked of some toxic chemical, which turned out to be coming from a damaged refrigerator. The staff members kindly removed the refrigerator and replaced it. The day we were leaving, we received a text stating that we would be billed an additional $278 because we had a dog on the property. We did not bring a dog, but our daughter brought hers to drop off with us so she could enter a ski race. We put the dog in the car and left. We had not been notified ahead of time that even the appearance of a dog anywhere on the grounds would result in a large fine. We went to the office, located in another part of town, and the staff person cleared the bill, we were told. We were still billed, but disputed the charge and the Chewuch Inn did not pursue it. It looks like the takeover of the inn by a hotel group was the cause of its decline.

We have been staying at this property for a weekend for about 10 years. Property condition has decreased significantly. On our most recent stay, the sink was leaking, the hot tub jets didn't work, and the hot tub was filthy. No staff on-site. Probably won't be back.

Good location, convenient walk to town. The breakfast had a good selection and was quite good. The room was dated and the TV did not work well.

We have stayed at the Chewuch a few times, and it seems that they were acquired by the Frank Hotel chain since we were last there. This was an opportunity to see how things have changed. Unfortunately, they have not changed for the better. First of all, it seems that several money saving changes have been put in place. Instead of checking in at the property, we were instructed to check in at the Methow Valley Lodge down the street. It seems that they no longer have an on property office. Well that is a minor thing, though it does seem that getting service on property involves a phone call, and help coming from the associated property. One of the big attractions of the old Chewuch Inn was its included breakfast. I must say that there was a disappointment here also. The breakfast buffet has suffered due to insufficient attention. There still are the quiche and egg dishes, however they seem to be brought in from the sister property. The replenishment of the dishes was slow and sometimes you had to wait for a refill to be brought out. The coffee pots ran out, again, with a some waiting for refills. Most disturbing was the fact that the creamer seemed to have been left on the counter overnight, and then when it was refilled, more creamer was simply added to the day old stuff. Similarly, the cup with the coffee trash, like creamer and sugar packets was not emptied after the breakfast session, and still present on the counter the next day. It does seem that the bagels that were put out the day before, were simply left there for the next day. It seems like there is not enough staff to run the breakfast buffet. Another change is that the hot tub is gone. Not much has changed with regard to the cozy rooms. We don’t know what the other lodging in Methow are like, but the Chewuch used to be the place to stay. Sadly it seems to have become average.

Room was not cleaned. Check in is at a different location, so not easy to go back to the other property for assistance. They did try to accomodate another room right away. Also had booked a cabin with a fireplace on *******, but they only get notified that you book a cabin. Be careful if you're booking the cabin with pull out couch due to having 3 people. Bed was comfortable, but linens were not very soft. Kitchen was well stocked.
