Service is good but the whole left side of building is noisey from Generators or Boiler systems. Consequently you need to shut your window fully to subdue the noise but then U have a lack of fresh air ..Or make sure U sleep on RHS of building if possible.

Arrived today for a family breakfast to celebrate fathers day. This was booked several weeks ago by my mother. On arrival the member of staff said 'just to let you know breakfast is £17.50 each as you haven't prepaid a deposit, just want to get that out of the way to start with' My mother was not asked to pre pay a deposit when she made the reservation. I understand that it would be £12.50 had she been asked to pay a deposit. We would be happy to pay £17 each for a breakfast anyway, this comment was unnecessary and a little crass. We then went on to wait over 30 minutes for anything to happen. We were not told how the structure was with the breakfast ie what to do. At this point my mother felt the signs that things where not going to be good and asked if we should leave. My father did not want to make a fuss and suggested we stay. Eventually someone came over to explain what we do. The food was of sub standard, the coffee was in a dirty large pot. Mum asked for hot milk for her coffee and was told they are not able to offer this until the bar staff arrived. I noticed most people in the restaurant looked unhappy and left their food, as we did. We got our bill and it was £70. Mum did say how unhappy we were but it fell on deaf ears. She asked to see the manager and was told no manager was there. She paid the bill and we left and had to go somewhere else locally to get a decent coffee and some cheese toasties. This is such a beautiful location and setting but the standards of both food and staff are poor. It is not worth carrying on as there is nothing more to say and it seems from other reviews no one will respond or take any responsibility for offering such sub standard service. People will go once and never return.

Stayed here a few times before over the last 5 or so years as my brother lives close by. Room was not worth the extra i paid for the premium/room with a view - at £100.00. It certainly did not look like the larger room on the image when booking.I questioned this but was advised that was the room i booked. I asked if there was any chance of an upgrade but was told not for free. Breakfast was ok - just no porridge which was disappointing for me.

First time staying here since 2020, used to be a popular stay with me when in the Wirral, disappointing when you have youngsters playing football with football boots on the centre grass area in front of the reception area chewing up the grass, this was once a great position for wedding parties to have their picturss taken... Not saying the kids shouldn't play football, but to the side of the car park is a large grassed area that would be perfect for a kick about. Kind of shows the level of service that you get when no one cares what is happening right outside the main entrance to the hotel, will be giving the place a miss the next time, such a shame as this was a brilliant place to stay.

Had a Ladies night dinner and dance here room decorated beautifully and great meal. Staff very helpful with setting everything up for the night and during the evening itself. Would recommend it to anyone looking for a venue to hold a function. In the process of planning another event there for later in the year because this one went so well.
