Nice central location. No parking, but you can park at the far end of the town car park overnight. We were in the family room, number 8, and it's next to the kitchen extractor fan, so it makes noise all the time. It switched off at 10pm but then you could hear the music from the pub downstairs. This is to be expected if you stay in a pub, and the music wasn't too loud and went off at a reasonable time. The room took a while to warm up as the radiators weren't on when we arrived. The bathroom was a bit too chilly to take a bath as the window didn't't seem to be double glazed and had a bit of a draft coming through. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly and hard-working. Food was excellent. Hallway smelt a little strange, as though there was a plumbing issue in the disabled toilet downstairs. The sofa bed had a big dip in it and so I had to use one of the pillows to make it flatter in order to sleep.

We enjoyed our stay at The Blue Boar. Very quiet and clean. It was a good central location to then travel around the Cotswolds. Our only drawback was parking, but we were able to park across the way at the shops. Everyone was so helpful and courteous.

Lovely staff and good food but the accommodation was tired. If I had booked the room to crash in after a party I wouldn’t have been disappointed but it wasn’t comfortable for business travelling. The lack of car parking was inconvenient and an oversight of mine in not realising there was no onsite facility when booking. The courtyard area was fabulous on the Friday night, full of people and music, but I had a 6am work call and it wasn’t the best experience for me in that situation. I booked the wrong place for the circumstances and therefore didn’t have the best experience. As a leisure traveller it would have been different.

Great little pub with friendly staff and excellent food. Room was good with nice bathroom. Breakfast was amazing choice and all cooked fresh to order . I had poached eggs , avacodo and chilli on sour dough toast - really good. only 1 slight issue and that’s the lack of parking, can park close by but have to faff with max 3 hrs unless after 6. I enjoyed the stay and value for money so I would stay again excepting the parking situation. Thank you for a good stay

Amazing hotel, got me in for early check in and got to enjoy the complimentary breakfast while waiting for my room to be ready. Had to catch a very early flight and taxi company did not follow through with pick up. Tony, the night porter went above and beyond and took me to the terminal in time for my flight. Awesome service and will surely come back when I’m in town.

Having eaten here several times previously I was looking forward to a meal with friends here. The starter was OK but I couldn't manage to saw my way through the toughest steak I have been presented with anywhere in the world. Everyone else that had the steak found the same problem. Surely, as a chef, you would try one of these steaks before sending them out to the unsuspecting public.

Myself and my family visited the Blue Boar on Christmas Day, and upon arrival were told by the manager (presumably) that there would be a 12.5% service charge on top of the £95 a head price of the meal, which turned out to be over £100. As it was Christmas, we thought this was included in the price as this wasn’t advertised when we booked the meal. Of course, we understand that a service charge is applied, especially on Christmas Day, but the lack of communication regarding this from management was a bit shoddy! We pre-ordered our meal and our starters came out really rapidly which was great! But the starters themselves were slightly lacklustre. Myself and 4 others had a mushroom parfait with a slice of toast which was pleasant but not mind blowing, and the rest of the table had prawn cocktail. The food server didn’t know which portions were kids and which were adults, but it turns out the children had more prawns than the adults in their meals? The main course came out shortly afterwards, and disappointed is an understatement. Four people at our table were vegetarian and chose the option of ‘sage and onion stuffed cauliflower’ with various vegetables. The cauliflower was burnt (not charred) and had NO FLAVOUR, no reminence of sage and onion at all. The vegetables were cold and we couldn’t believe how small the portions were for the £95 a head price! My brother was also told that they ran out of the roasted cauliflower so they replaced it with boiled cauliflower. So he essentially had a plate of boiled veg. It was awful and nothing comparable to a Christmas dinner, like many other places offer for vegetarians. In comparison, the meat option that the other family members had was described as ‘mediocre’. The only saving grace was the dessert option of Sticky Toffee Apple Pudding which was beautiful, but again, tiny portions for the price. At the end of the meal, included in the set menu were coffees and truffles. After waiting for 20 minutes, we asked if we were still having coffee and truffles and the server was very helpful and got our coffees out very quickly. She was called Emma, and was friendly, professional and was whizzing about the place, clearing tables and looking after guests the whole time. We are very disappointed at how the meal turned out on Christmas Day and wouldn’t recommend any vegetarians/vegans to eat there next year during Christmas time, as there was a lack of effort put into the veggie option.

Had hoped to enjoy an evening meal with friends. Unfortunately waited an hour for food which had been preordered. When arrived it was very dry as obviously had been kept under a heat lamp. Slow service, seemed understaffed to cope with large groups for a Christmas meal. Lacked a Christmas atmosphere. Wouldn’t recommend here for a festive night out I’m sorry to say!
