DoubleTree by Hilton St. Anne's Manor

Really lovely, central hotel, set back from the main road. Quiet, spotlessly clean and the room was warm and cosy, with nice decor. Home away from home. Didn’t use hotel amenities, bar room service. From what I saw, it was of high standard. Would highly recommend a stay here.

As per the title, most things are ok here. Check in was quick and efficient with the cookie provided which as always is great. I did check in via the Honors app. The digital key was never sent so I could have avoided the desk all together if this had worked. It’s a great tool but seems to be hit and miss as it didn’t work. Rooms are great. Lovely clean decor. However, despite stating ‘air conditioning’ upon booking it is not cool enough at all which was really disappointing. It is something I will make a booking decision on and on this occasion it is no where near cool enough to be classed as air conditioned. I wouldn’t be complaining if it didn’t state ‘air conditioned’. Fix it or remove from the website? Bed was really comfy as per usual at doubletree hotels with plenty of lighting. Bathrooms are great, plenty of linen and a nice powerful shower. Again, details the shower shampoo hadn’t been filed. One was empty. Great to have the gym and pool facilities available to hotel guests. Bar staff were friendly and helpful. Room service menu was incorrect on the TVs and there is no menus on websites etc so this was painful to establish what to eat. Everything on the bar and room service menu is all fried or just sandwiches. I appreciate its convenient food but this hotel receives a lot of business guests and when traveling regularly, being limited to bread and fried food can be frustrating. Breakfast - Great service and good offering. Good options and you have the option for a takeaway cups also which is a real win when in a rush. It’s tough, hospitality in the UK is really struggling. I don’t know if this is why this location is suffering but it’s a great hotel, just missing those details. So much could be avoided. Removing old menus from TVs, not advertising air conditioning when it’s broken or ensuring it work properly and also ensuring the Hilton app/Honors is fully functional. It has potential but I’d only come back in the summer if the air conditioning was working. I hope this is viewed as constructive as I would use regularly if the ******* were resolved.

We’ve been going to this hotel for 20 years, and whilst it’s still a relaxing stay with a lovely garden and views, the hotel felt tired this time. The pool area in particular is in need of an upgrade, is now very basic. Usual Hilton breakfast. Dinner was very good, served and with big portions. All staff were lovely, but when I tried to call Reception/Housekeeping in the evening, no one answered and I ended up having to walk down to Reception - not their fault, just not enough of them. Overall, we still like the hotel for sentimental reasons, but it’s starting to fall behind.

Staff were helpful, it’s clean and comfortable. Unfortunately the sauna and spa pool wasn’t working but we could use the main pool and steam room

The beds are uncomfortable and pillows are rubbish had a bad nights sleep not happy
