Premier Inn Barnsley (Dearne Valley)

We arrived a hotel reception quite late on around 9:30pm. The lady on reception (Becky)was very friendly and helpful and explained that the restaurant was closed so gave directions to local fast food or was able to show knowledge of food business in just eat and informed could be delivered to our hotel. Becky kindly got us some plates and cutlery. The room was a fairly decent sized room and was spotlessly clean. Beds were of a comfortable standard and nice flufffy pillows. When we arrived in the room there were some treats for us to enjoy which is a nice gesture. We choose to stay for the weekend due to visibly family in wath area. We stayed in room 18.

Staff were brilliant. Rooms are dated, no air con. Fixtures are tired. Floor are crunchy and squeaky. The curtains in my room were hanging off the track slightly. Couldn't open the window. But again, you have fantastic staff, friendly, helpful, etc.

We always stay at this Premier Inn when visiting family. Its location is just where we need to be. The check in is straight forward and the staff are helpful and friendly. The rooms are just what you expect from a premier inn, clean and comfortable. I’m not sure about the new beds as they they’re very hard and the quilt is heavy for the warmer nights. We loved the Hypnos beds ( so much that we bought one, along with the pillows) We didn’t read any information in the room so didn’t realise you had to leave a message at reception if you wanted your room made up. We can’t comment on breakfast but the evening meals were delicious.

We had a lovely 2 night stay here. Our room was spacious and had everything we needed. Tea and coffee in the room and if you needed extra you could pick up more in the lobby. It was lovely to have a bath and shower. The beds were so comfotable and there were extra pillows in the room. A good size desk and plenty of electric sockets and good lighting. The room was very clean as was the rest of the hotel, even the dado rail in the hallways had been dusted. Very friendly staff on reception and really nice housekeeping staff. We used the Brewers Fayre attached to the hotel, excellent food and good value for money. Our waitress Katy was supper friendly and came to check everything was ok, excellent service. Highly recommended.

Room was dirty, especially the bathroom. Food at breakfast poor, used napkins to soak up liquid from he pate. Should have sent it back to the kitchen but not confident on what would reappear so checked out and went to McDonalds. Had heard from a work colleague this chain had improved.....not found that to be true

Had a lovely weekend here. Rooms very clean. Beds comfortable. Diane on reception full of local knowledge and a credit to the company.

This COULD be a great hotel. It is clean and the front of house staff are very helpful and friendly. However, there is a large business opposite the hotel. Their employees park along the road into the hotel and they were coming and going from 0430am each day. This meant car noise, music and shouting disturbed my sleep each morning. It's a shame as without this the hotel would be fab.

After reading the reviews I was a little concerned but on arrival this soon changed. The staff were very friendly and inviting managed to get in my room early. The rooms were very clean and the beds very comfy. Very quiet in the night. Lots of traffic parked up on the edge near the hotel but this didn’t affect our stay

I have stayed here a lot due to work the staff here are excellent and very helpful Ameena Dianne Adam Becky are just a few I can name but all the staff here are great . The rooms are what they are a place to sleep both a bath and a shower also so that’s a bonus and there’s always someone in hand if u need that soft pillow haha From Paul
