Washingborough Hall Hotel

Stayed for one night and attended a party. The best hotel in Lincolnshire, you couldn’t fault the staff the hotel the food and the ambience 5 star. Thanks for a lovely stay. The room was clean and extremely comfortable, the food was outstanding, would definitely go back. The grounds of the hotel 5 star. Would highly recommend. Staff made you feel welcome at all times

We recently came to the hotel for a party and also stayed for 1 night. From arriving to departing we were made to feel so welcome & the service was exceptional throughout. Our meal in the restaurant was absolutely delicious with very friendly and attentive staff. The gardens are beautiful and we were lucky to have a glorious evening to enjoy a pre dinner drink on the terrace. Our bedroom did not disappoint and we had such a comfortable nights sleep with all the amenities we needed, followed by the most delicious breakfast in the morning with so much choice! Thank you to the team at Washingborough Hall for a fantastic stay, we would 100% recommend.

Wanted to book the snug for dinner which we have done several times as we are shielding only to be told that the tiny little room which we have previously been able to use would now cost £75 on top of the not-inconsiderable meal charge. It's been hard enough finding somewhere with good food locally where we could feel safe and now to be charged £75 for having blood cancer is devastating. One less place we can go out to eat for a high quality meal. Hugely disappointed and distressed with the management making this callous and cruel decision. And on top of that, waiting until we had already decided to book with friends, to tell us about it. Customer service?

A wonderful visit, as always, to Washingborough Hall. This hotel is our preferred place to stay when we visit Lincoln. An outstanding meal at dinner, very attentive and professional staff. We always look forward to visiting and we’re never disappointed. Thank you and look forward to returning very soon.

This venue is uncompromising when it comes to things that have been pre-paid. My experience was related to gift vouchers, but if you search for other 1* reviews (especially on the google maps reviews) you can find some horrible stories about people losing huge amounts of money (they booked weddings) because of this venue being so uncompromising around prepayments. I usually only write reviews about venues I like, but I dislike companies with expiring gift vouchers so much that I felt compelled to warn people about this. Do not buy vouchers from this venue as gifts. They expire after 1 year, and Washingborough Hall do not do what many other places in Lincoln do, which is to issue a new 1 year voucher if you call close to the time the voucher expiring and explain why you couldn't use it (in our case it was because of having a baby - finding time for high tea within a year when you have a baby is very difficult! We had several gift vouchers from that period expire and other venues were more than happy to reissue). So, this means that Washingborough Hall got to keep the entire money spent on the voucher without providing anything in return. It always feels to me that companies shouldn't be allowed to do this... More details: I emailed Washingborough Hall 22 days after our voucher expired. I got no reply (Washingborough Hall claim they replied immediately offering a paltry 2 month extension as a "gesture of goodwill", but I did not receive any email from them and they made no further effort to contact me). We are now 6 months past the date of expiration and there is no possibility of them honouring the voucher - the money spent on the voucher has been taken as pure profit by them. If you are looking for places to buy gift vouchers for high tea, I suggest Bells Tea Rooms in Lincoln - a beautiful ancient venue, delicious high tea, and I have first hand experience that they honour their gift vouchers when life events mean you can't visit within a year.

Restaurant the best we have encountered for dietary needs with a special menu created for my wife's intolerance to gluten and milk.Much appreciated and sadly something most restaurants can't or won't accommodate. Room spotlessly clean and had everything you could wish for.Staff friendly and professional in everything they did.

Words are not easily to mind to describe the superb experience that we all enjoyed on the occasion of my wife's 75th birthday lunch on the 26th May. Every aspect of the day was sensational. Staff were wonderful despite the main celebrant being an hour late! The food was appreciated by young and old.

It is some while since we last visited this hotel and arriving last week we were delighted to discover that extensive refurbishments have transformed this hotel from good to superlative, a real gem. The public areas are most attractive, the dining room being the jewel in the crown, whilst our Executive double room featured a very comfortable king size bed, a powerful shower and for the more agile a large roll top bath. Dinner was excellent, one of the best meals we have enjoyed in a long time, supplemented with an interesting and varied wine list. All of the above was enabled by excellent staff who were both welcoming and attentative, Jordan and Lynn to name but two. All in all I would suggest this is one of the best privately owned hotels in the county, if not the best. You will not be disappointed.

The hotel is beautiful and restful. Food is excellent both at breakfast and dinner. If the weather had been better would definitely have enjoyed a patio drink as the gardens are pretty and well maintained. It has a side gate giving access to the church next door so this would be lovely for a wedding. The staff are excellent. The hotel is well situated for visiting Lincoln City with the cathedral Quarter being a huge draw.
