Very awkward/ difficult to find the way in if you're in a car, as it's on a dual carriageway, which seems to confuse a satnav. Parking is £10/ day added to your bill. My room was very good - large with comfortable bed. THe bathroom was a little tired & needs an upgrade. My room was not serviced during the two nights I was there despite being out a lot of the time & leaving a "Please Service My Room" thing on the door. Breakfast was an OK buffet - OK if you want a full English, but not a massive range of other things. Bread selection poor. Sausages a bit tasteless & bready. But I had two comfortable nights at a reasonable cost so not complaining. Located just on the edge of the main parts of town, near cathedral & shopping streets/ bars/ restaurants. Would stay there again.

We stayed here as part of a group of 30 people on a coach tour. The staff were very professional and helpful. The food was excellent. The rooms were spacious, clean and the bed comfortable. 5 minutes walk to Worcester Cathedral. Would thoroughly recommend

A perfectly nice hotel that made me very welcome and comfortable but with an irritating habit of sending emails soliciting reviews on Tripadvisor even after I'd taken the trouble to review it elsewhere.

We arrived to the hotel 45 minutes early for check in and were greeted by a woman at the bar. We hoped we could check in a little early, as it was less than an hour but were told we couldnt check in yet (receptionist didnt check to see if it was possible, just a straight up 'no'.) So, we decided to get a drink while we waited. There was no soft drinks on tap, the spirit mixers come from big bottles stored in a minifridge so went flat quickly. We checked into our room at 3, fighting thorugh a wedding crowd that had been arriving since we go to the hotel (again, letting us check in 45 minutes early would have been nice so we didnt have to queue in a line of wedding guests trying to get drinks etc as the reception was also the bar) and we werent made aware that there was a wedding, with a very loud party going on till 12am. Perhaps make guests aware of weddings / party events. I wouldnt have liked to have neded an early night as it was so loud you culdnt sleep until the party eventually stopped. The room smelled damp, and was freezing cold despite an 8ft radiator that you have no control over. Rooms were very dated too. Overall, the hotel could use a facelift and the staff could do better to be a little more accomodating towards guests. We also were told at check in that the parking was charged to the room, yet were charged again on departure. The price of parking seems to vary too from day to day. We pad £15.00 on departure and told it was £10.00 on arrival? No iron in room either.

We stayed for one night but liked Worcester very much and would have stayed longer. Checking in was easy, the bar menu was ok and reasonably priced. Town centre was very close with some great pubs and restaurants. Lovely walk by the river. Everything was clean, the breakfast was very good and the chef was a cheerful guy, the most impressive member of staff. I found one member of the reception staff less than cheerful but I didn’t really let that bother me. Drinks were very expensive and £20 for a small dog was twice what we paid in 3 other hotels. Parking was £10. The outside of the building was very interesting. I’d stay again and might eat there but, as I’ve said the drinks were expensive whilst there is plenty of alternative places that are more fun!

We stayed here for a couple of nights in mid week and it provided all that we needed. A good size room with a good shower located close to the town center and attractions. It is a converted old glove factory and some of its fixtures and fitting are a little tired. The English breakfast was very good and sets you up for the day.

We spent one night during a visit to Worcester and found the hotel ideally situated for walking to the city centre. Staff were very helpful and the room was excellent. Self-service breakfast was very good.

The Fownes Hotel was once a glove factory, and made fashionable gloves and gloves for the military etc. fascinating history. It has 61 bedrooms, but very little staff. Our twin room was clean and comfortable. Although the beds and pillows were hard for me. Tea and coffee making in room. T.V as well. pretty standard. As I am disabled the walk in shower was a boon, BUT it didn't have grab handles, nor a non slip floor. Shame, There were none of the perks of staying in an Hotel either you know, shampoo, proper soap, shower caps tissues, things like that. Breakfast was OK, plenty of it, but the chef needs to have more staff. Only one waiter and the tables were not laid, it was a buffet breakfast, which I loathe anyway. But as I say, the staff were excellent, so happy to help, and always a smile. I do have one serious complaint, the car park, there were two Disabled spaces, not a lot of room in them, just about squeeze two cars in. I had to pay £10 per night, even though I displayed a blue badge, which does enable me to park free at most places. I could have had parking around the corner for £3.50 per day. I did ask if I could be excused from this payment, but the car park is controlled by another company. I am annoyed that I had to pay £30 for the privilege of parking my car in there. They did assure me there were security guards walking about at night time., But to be honest I never saw or heard of one. Would I stay there again? Yes. It's a pity it hasn't more money to be spent on it to upgrade it, and have a lot more staff. It is very handy to get into town, 2minutes walk and you are in the centre which is delightful.
