Prince Hill House

Outstanding in every respect. This is an awesome House (better than an ordinary hotel) fit for a king.

One of the most beautiful places that we have ever stayed! A very historic gorgeous home. The gardens and fruit trees are amazing. We stayed in the very spacious Eisenhower room with views overlooking their very large yard. Breakfast was incredible with all sorts of homemade items. Lucy the owner is always avaliable to help and she is so kind. We parked onsite in their gated lot. The perfect spot if you are planning a Stonehenge trip or drive to Salisbury Cathedral. A most memorable stay for us.

Lucy was a delightful hostess, and the house is stunning, and full of history. We would definitely book here again.

We stayed here as I needed a self catering stay neat to longleat safari. Longleat safari is 30 mins from here but it's a lovely scenic drive. We stayed in the garden lodge which is next to the main house. It has it's own entrance. It's a spacious flat with kitchen, living room and your bedroom and bathroom with bath and shower. Positives: the bed and pillows are so comfortable! Best sleep ! Plenty of parking but the owner likes you to park in a certain place only. Lovely new kitchen , all equipped with everything. Negatives: the owner will tell you off if she doesnt agree with how you do something! She told my partner off for reversing when "he didnt need to" as she told him! She can be quite sharp but I think that's her character but it was a strange feeling really - never experienced that before. Some of the dishes in the kitchen were still dirty and we found hair and a stain on a plate. Luckily I had brought our own plates and cutlery. Also there was an empty wine bottle behind the door that was left there from the previous guests so its raises the question of how and where it was cleaned as it wasnt removed. The owner will show you around but was a bit reluctant to tell me how to operate the central heating. Also there are 2 steps leading from the bedroom to the bathroom so be careful at night if you need the toilet ! Location - there is a local pub across the road . We did go in for a drink . There are no local shops even for bread, milk, eggs etc so if you are thinking of staying , make sure you have your food/ drink supply bought beforehand. We did have a pleasant stay, the best thing was the comfortable bed and pillows. Also it is very peaceful there and a lovely drive to longleat safari park.

The house contains lovely, calm spacious rooms full of charming and intriguing touches. The owner was good company, helpful, creative and caring. She has turned her home into a place full of delightful elements that make staying there feel restorative and life enhancing and the very opposite of the draining blandness and weird obsequiousness of many other hotels and B&Bs. Breakfast was delicious and thoughtfully prepared, with unusual dishes. Expect to share the large breakfast table with people you don’t know, giving you the opportunity to meet new and interesting people. Our stay there added to our experience of being in that area, and became an integral part of that happy weekend.

Prince Hill house is such a find. A truly beautiful and authentic country house that has been lovingly restored by its owner Lucy. Both Lucy and the house itself gave us the warmest of welcomes and we felt relaxed and comfortable from the moment we stepped over the threshold. We stayed in The Aviary which offers a lounge, small kitchen and 2 beautiful spacious bedrooms. Exceptional value for money given the grandeur of the rooms and surroundings and our host was wonderful. We loved it here and will definitely be returning soon.

Amazing property and perfect host

Fantastic accommodation with a welcoming host, Lucy. Ample provisions provided for breakfast taking into consideration allergies etc. A most comfortable stay for our family of 5 in the penthouse suite. Would definitely visit again.
