I have been staying at the Sandpeddler for over a decade. I have stayed many times over the years, but I will no longer be doing business with them after my experience today. I don't recommend that others do business with the Sandpeddler either. I booked a specific until back in August. When I showed up to check-in today, I was assigned to another unit without notification. The units at the Sandpeddler vary a lot. Some of the units are very nice, but some of the units are not so great. I obviously booked a very nice unit. I was moved to a unit that didn't have a great view, had a smaller balcony & wasn't as nicely updated. I wasn't okay with that. I wouldn't have booked the unit that I was assigned to. Had I been notified of the change in advance, I would have cancelled the reservation. The manager, Toni, told me that it is in the hotel's policies that rooms & prices are subject to change. So, BUYERS BEWARE! You may reserve a room for a certain price but that price may change. You may reserve a nice unit, but you may be assigned to a not so great unit upon arrival. And, the hotel is totally okay with charging you more or giving you a subpar unit. Afterall, that is their policy! Personally, I think that it a terrible policy, so I obviously won't be spending my money there anymore. I do suggest the Surf Suites right across the street. All of their units are the same, and they are all updated. That hotel is also ocean front. Honestly, I am confused on why I just didn't stay at The Surf in the first place. It would have saved me a bunch of stress & annoyance to just avoid the bad service at the Sandpeddler.
