Atour Hotel Wuhan Hankou Station South Square

The hotel's location is excellent, and the lobby is bright with lots of books. Check-in was fast, and they even offered tea, which was great service. The room was clean and tidy, and the pillows were super comfortable. The air conditioning worked perfectly.

The front desk lady was very friendly, enthusiastic, and attentive. The hotel's delivery service was also very convenient.

The front desk is on the 9th floor, and the rooms are on the 7th, which made check-in and check-out a bit of a hassle. During the May Day holiday, the room rate was outrageous, nearly 800 a night, yet the service and experience were only worth about 300-400. Upon entering the room, it felt stuffy and had an unpleasant odor. Its only redeeming quality is its proximity to the station, but even then, it's not as noticeable upon exiting the station as the Wyndham. Check-in was unremarkable, but at check-out, they asked for my WeChat, which I found odd. It might be okay at regular prices, but at double the price, I definitely wouldn't recommend it. 🙅🏻‍♀️

I suspect it's not the real Atour supermarket. The elevator location isn't obvious; I suggest adding a more prominent sign. I ended up going to another floor and discovered there was no ninth floor, and the elevator was very slow. It seems the Platinum members no longer receive welcome fruit and special slippers, and there's no longer any reminder about congee availability at night. I accidentally booked an interior window room, and when I opened it, it was terrifying—it was an abandoned shopping mall, very oppressive. Most importantly, the soundproofing is terrible.

The train station was under construction, and they were still working at 4 AM. My child couldn't sleep, and I thought he had a fever. We went to the hospital, but he was fine. He was just a light sleeper because of the construction, tossing and turning. It gave me a real scare, and I didn't get much sleep all night.

This was the worst experience I've ever had at any Atour Hotel. The soundproofing was terrible; I could hear every step in the hallway outside. I was woken up several times during the night. I complained to the front desk but didn't get a satisfactory response. The layout was even worse than the nearby budget hotel. If you have trouble sleeping, avoid this location.
