Checked in after the national day celebration, the beginning of October. It was not crowded and a lot of shops around the hotels were closed including restaurants. The room was comfortable and pretty quiet. Generous free unlimited water bottle supplies throughout the day. Cloth washing and cleaning was very expensive. Breakfast was served with huge variations, including local and western style.
Did not manage to visit the five peaks due to snow. The locals were very friendly, including taxi drivers. I was advised the best season to visit Wutaishan is May and June.

Overall, the hotel is nice and spacious. The minor drawback is that there is no lift but we travel pretty light so its still ok. However, we had a horrifying experience at the spa where the two massage therapists are very unprofessional. Not only are they not skillful (more like rubbing than massage) but they are chatting and playing with handphone during the session. The charges for the massage are at the rate of a tier 1 city but the service and skills we got are way below.

My room was spotless—so clean and fresh, and completely non-smoking, which was a huge plus. I loved relaxing in the bathtub while taking in the view.
Breakfast was a solid win with varieties of options, both international and Chinese. My favorite part was the freshly squeezed juice —such a nice touch! The Chinese restaurant downstairs was also great, especially the spicy chicken dish. If you like bold flavors, it's a must-try.
The hotel offers four mineral hot bath pools, which looked super clean. They do come at an extra charge, but they seem worth it if you're looking to unwind. Speaking of relaxation, the spa was amazing! The lady massager was incredibly kind, helping me with my lower back pain after a long week of traveling. She even shared a tip—walking backward to ease the pain!
The only downside was that during the spring season, there’s no air conditioning. If the room gets a bit warm, you’ll need to open the window for cooler air.
Overall, it was a great experience, and I’d definitely recommend this place!

It was a nice hotel and the room was comfortable, except that the in-room temperature couldn’t be adjusted… I understand that it was cold outside, but I couldn’t sleep when the temperature stayed at 26.5 centigrade throughout the entire night. I only managed to catch a bit of sleep after daybreak when I opened the balcony door to let some cold air in.

The massive Wutai Mountain Marriott combines a spectacular facility with polished and friendly service, nothing was too much for the ever present and willing staff. Wu Tai Shan is a gem of a place to visit and the comforts of the Marriott certainly put the cream on the cake.
