I booked a week at this hotel, close to Canterbury. Holiday Inn is a chain and so you know what to expect. This hotel stood out from other Holiday Inn's, in my opinion, because of the staff. They were all excellent. Professional. Friendly. Breakfast could get busy and yet the staff seemed to be always in control. Tables were kept clear and clean, all breakfast items were well stocked. It all ran so efficiently and nothing runs that efficiently without a lot of hard work. The Reception staff always made time to greet guests and ask about plans for the day etc. The room was standard, but the stay was so good purely due to the staff. Canterbury is only 3 miles away but taxi fares were pricey. On the Sunday it costs £20 to Canterbury and £25 back to the hotel. I suspect most people will drive as there is a large car park and this is pretty much a Services hotel. I hadn't given the location much thought when I booked. However, we were next to the A2 and it was easy to drive to different places. All in all, what would have been a standard stay not even worthy of a review, was elevated because of the staff.
