Desti Youth Park Hostel (Xi'an Bell Tower)

This was my first time staying at Backpacker's Ten Years, and after just one stay, I can't imagine staying at any other hostel! The location is super easy to find, and check-in was a breeze. They even give you a welcome kit (a bottle of water and slippers) which is a nice touch. The mattress, duvet, and pillows were all really comfy, and the room itself was surprisingly spacious. They even provide bath towels! What really stood out to me though was the common area. The atmosphere is fantastic, and there were so many foreigners, which was a great opportunity to practice my English and communication skills. Honestly, if you're in a tourist city and there's a Backpacker's Ten Years, just book it without thinking!

After a long journey, staying at this hotel was a delightful surprise. The room was spotlessly clean, and the bedding was soft and fluffy, ensuring a very restful night's sleep. The soundproofing was excellent; I couldn't hear any outside noise. The front desk staff were friendly and efficient during both check-in and check-out. The location is superb, making it easy to hail a taxi and find food. It was a perfect place to recharge after a tiring trip. Highly recommended for travelers.

The social atmosphere here is fantastic! The common areas are always lively and cozy, with a game corner, reading nook, and coffee station readily available. The staff are incredibly friendly, like old friends, especially Tomato! He's super witty and reliable, and the board game night he organized had us laughing until our stomachs hurt!

I'm not sure if it's a management issue or guest etiquette, but the common area's trash wasn't always cleared promptly; I encountered that once. The atmosphere in the common areas was generally good and harmonious, but some guests' behavior... The service and cleanliness were okay, acceptable. However, the hotel's basic facilities definitely need some maintenance.

The last day of July, I went to Huashan with Sandra, my bunkmate. First off, my ID disappeared. It was foggy all day, and from the cable car, all I could see was a vast expanse of white. After descending, a massive downpour started. We walked for a long time in the rain before finally squeezing onto a bus, our pants and shoes completely soaked. I felt nauseous on the bumpy ride, couldn't find a taxi, and was utterly disheveled. After walking a long way, we finally got a car, only to get stuck in traffic. We eventually reached the high-speed rail station, then took the subway. It was an exhausting day. The next morning, I woke up to find the display screen of my action camera missing, costing me another 500 yuan to replace. Perhaps it was awful, but somehow, I felt it was okay. I had made so many beautiful memories in Xi'an, and even took two days of private English lessons. I'll remember the gentle and friendly boss I met on my first day at breakfast, the solo female traveler I met along the way, the cats in the temple and the beautiful, lovely girls, the talkative and optimistic staff at the braised food shop, and my memories with Sandra. I'll remember the first time I nervously asked her if she wanted some candy; I'll remember our laughter while hiking; I'll remember that heavy rain we got caught in together – she walked barefoot, and I put 'The Five-Yuan Umbrella' into her playlist, 'because the sky will always clear up, and the rain will stop eventually.' I remember our last dinner; I didn't get to eat barbecue or crayfish. I wished time could stretch a little longer. Under the warm yellow light, her hair was down, and her eyes gazed at me, focused and warm. I had so much I wanted to tell her – there's no feast that doesn't end, but I'm not good at goodbyes. At that moment, the crayfish tasted like chewing wax. I just wanted to go upstairs – if this was the last time I'd see you, please let me give you a hug and tell you what a wonderful person you are, how much I like you. Thank you to everyone who appeared on my journey, who shared a part of my life, even if it was as brilliant and fleeting as a comet. That dazzling halo will always remain in my heart, making me a better, more complete person. The boss gave me the courage to talk to strangers; the girls brought me joy and happiness, making me love my bare face; the staff made me want to approach life more positively; Sandra showed me how a journey can be relaxing and healing. I didn't travel in vain. Goodbye, everyone. Goodbye, Xi'an. Hope to meet again someday.

This hotel is truly top-notch! I highly recommend it, from the service to the accommodation environment and facilities. They even provide a personal safe and free slippers, among other amenities. Plus, the location is quite good.

Backpackers Ten Years is pretty good. They have separate areas for men and women, which is excellent. The cleaning staff is also nice. The common areas are large, making it great for extroverts, or even if you just want to grab some hot water by yourself. Nothing else really to add, but ladies, remember to stay safe.
