GreenTree Eastern Hotel (Xiamen Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street)

Lots of delicious food nearby and close to many popular spots. The hotel environment is great. Highly recommended for couples! 🎉👍👍 The soundproofing might be a little bit poor, but everything else is fine.

The location is very convenient—right outside is the Zhongshan Walking Street, and it's also very close to the subway station. The room's AC was nice and cold! I was even given a free upgrade to a better room. Highly recommend staying here!

The front desk staff were very warm and welcoming. The room was clean and comfortable, and the location was fantastic—super convenient to get anywhere. Breakfast had a good variety, and the scrambled eggs with corn were delicious. A special shoutout to the short-haired lady at the front desk, who was exceptionally responsible and helpful. The room was quiet with a great view. Had a wonderful trip to Xiamen!

The bathroom features a wet and dry separation design, and the room has a window, which provides better soundproofing than rooms without one. Free bottled water is provided and is unlimited. The only downside is the terrible Wi-Fi. The connection constantly drops in the room, it takes several refreshes just to log in, and even when it connects, the internet access keeps cutting out.

The security guard was exceptionally friendly and made us feel so welcome. Also, the hotel is in a very convenient location, right next to a local snack street. Highly recommended!

Overall, I'm not satisfied with my stay. I'm usually not one to leave bad reviews easily, but I chose this hotel because of its high rating, especially since I was traveling with elderly family members and a child. I had seen some negative reviews, but thought with such a high overall score, it shouldn't be too bad. I was wrong. The only good thing about this hotel is its proximity to Zhongshan Road; it's just a short walk downstairs. However, the front desk staff's attire looked unprofessional – their shirts were loose and sloppy, as if they were just thrown on. This is a hotel, not a guesthouse. And they handed me toothbrushes when I checked in, which was a first for me. I booked a room with a window. The room I was assigned had a large wall in the middle, with only a small window to the side, making it virtually windowless. The design was very odd. Now for the main issue: the air conditioning! Usually, you press 'on' for cooling, and it works. But it just kept getting hotter, and the room temperature rose to over 30 degrees Celsius. I tried to call the front desk, but couldn't find their number on the desk or by the phone. The phone didn't even have a cord! While searching, I found trash under the desk and a used bandage by the door. So, I went downstairs directly to the front desk. They said they'd send someone up. I mentioned I couldn't find their number, and the staff member, a bit haughtily, pointed to the room key card holder and said, 'The phone number is here.' The room only came with one key card, so I couldn't get back up without asking security to swipe me in. While waiting, the A/C started to blow a little. About five minutes later, a cleaning lady came up, cleaned a bit, apologized, and left. When I came back in the evening, it was cool again. Later, I felt a bit cold and turned the temperature up a few degrees. Suddenly, it started blowing hot air again, and the room temperature went up to 34 degrees Celsius. I called the front desk for someone to come up. While waiting, it started blowing a little again. The staff member who came in probably felt the heat too, and started saying something about closing the bathroom door, not using the bathroom fan, and not turning on the heating. I was utterly confused; I know the difference between heating and cooling, and I only adjusted the temperature. Asking me to close the bathroom door and such was just too weird. They just kept implying it was my fault, and then left. In the middle of the night, the air conditioning malfunctioned again, and the room temperature reached 38 degrees Celsius. I had to adjust it myself for a long time before it worked. Also, while they have a robot for food delivery, in reality, you still have to go downstairs to pick it up yourself. I ordered two takeaways. The first delivery rider said they'd leave it at the front desk for the robot to bring up. I said okay, but then waited for a long time, and it never came. The second delivery person asked if I wanted the robot to deliver or if I'd pick it up myself. I chose to pick it up, and when I went downstairs, both orders were on the delivery rack, and the robot was quietly sitting next to the service desk. Later, as I was carrying my takeaways upstairs, I saw someone on the phone complaining to the delivery person about their order not arriving. When she saw me with two bags of takeaway, she immediately understood and told the person on the phone, 'I'll go down and check, it's faster to pick it up myself.' Furthermore, the water pressure was terrible; the shower water was very weak. The showerhead couldn't stay in its holder; I had to hold it the entire time I showered. The facilities and environment were all old and worn. When checking out, I tried to provide feedback to the front desk. As soon as I mentioned the air conditioning, the front desk said, 'Why didn't you call our customer service?' Sir, what kind of customer service am I supposed to call at 4 AM? With an entire family, bringing someone up would wake everyone. Anyway, my review is my right. Whether the hotel changes or not is beyond my control. I just checked the negative reviews, and the single key card issue hasn't been fixed; my family room also only got one key card. Perhaps the hotel just sees this as a one-time business and doesn't pay much attention to guest feedback. In short, my stay at this hotel was very unpleasant.

The service at this hotel was truly exceptional, and we were very satisfied! We arrived much earlier than the check-in time and were worried we wouldn't be able to get into our room right away. However, the hotel had a vacant room, and they very considerately allowed us to check in early without any extra charge, which was incredibly thoughtful. The room was well-equipped with amenities; slippers and toothbrushes were provided, and there were several towels. Although a few of the towels were a bit worn, the overall cleanliness was good, so it was probably just an oversight on their part. The bed was very soft, and the comforter and pillows were very comfortable, making for a truly restful sleep. There were three of us – my friend with her son, and myself. The hotel thoughtfully arranged a room with a larger bed for my friend and her son, and a smaller bed for me, which was very considerate. Initially, we accidentally booked a room without a window. When we went to the front desk, the staff informed us that we could cancel the windowless room for free and helped us rebook a nice room with a window. We are truly grateful for their assistance. We didn't book breakfast because we are foreigners, and the breakfast here is very Chinese in style. The hotel even offered to let us check out the breakfast options beforehand. Unfortunately, the taste wasn't really to our liking, so we ultimately decided against it. Wi-Fi was available in the room. When we checked out, we were also able to store our luggage at the hotel, which was very convenient. Overall, the service was excellent, and everything was great. The hotel isn't brand new, but it's generally quite clean. During our stay, housekeeping came to clean the room, replaced all the slippers with new ones, provided new toothbrushes, and even mopped the floor. We all really liked this hotel, especially the service. The staff were very polite and patient with foreign guests, always trying their best to help us. Their attitude was very gentle and friendly, and they often proactively asked if we needed any assistance. We highly recommend this hotel!

Great location, good ambiance, and excellent service. Plenty of attractions nearby. The price was a bit high (compared to regular days), and the breakfast was standard Chinese. They have a robot deliver takeaways to your room, which is a nice touch. Otherwise, everything else was okay.

Stepping out, you're surrounded by various snack shops, and it's super convenient for exploring China City. It's also not far from the subway station, making it easy to get to all the tourist attractions. The hotel is a quiet oasis amidst the hustle and bustle. The rooms are clean and tidy, the bedding is comfortable, there's plenty of hot water, and the Wi-Fi is stable. The front desk staff are warm and welcoming, and check-in/check-out is quick. They also offer free luggage storage, and any requests are handled promptly. There's a self-service laundry room, which is really convenient for travelers who need to wash clothes. The overall environment is quiet, and the value for money is excellent. It's perfect whether you're traveling with friends or on a short trip. I would definitely consider staying here again next time I visit Xiamen, and I highly recommend it to anyone coming to Xiamen!
