JI Hotel (Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport)

Did I stay at a fake Hanting Hotel? The facilities are run down, the wallpaper is yellowing and peeling, and the cushions are pilling. The vanity mirror looks like it's been through a war. I booked this blindly based on my trust in the Hanting brand, and I didn't expect such a terrible experience. If you had named this hotel Home Inn, I wouldn't be so angry.

I stayed at this hotel for a business trip with a client. The environment was decent, breakfast was good, and they even offered pickup/drop-off services.

This was a very uncomfortable hotel stay, and here's why: 1. **Upselling attempts.** I booked a 'Superior King Room A.' The hotel called me beforehand to say it was near the elevator and tried to get me to pay to upgrade to a different room type. The person on the phone wasn't very clear, and I kept saying I couldn't hear them well. Only later did I realize that 'Superior King Room A' is *specifically* the room type sold that's next to the elevator – essentially, it's a special designation. But at the time, I didn't understand this, and the person on the phone didn't explain it; they just said my room was by the elevator and asked if I wanted to pay for an upgrade. Honestly, there are plenty of rooms near elevators, and I didn't think it was worth the trouble or cost to switch. I asked how to change the room type, and they told me to do it on Trip.com. I briefly checked but didn't find it easily and just decided to let it go. 2. **Terrible soundproofing.** As mentioned, 'Superior King Room A' is by the elevator. However, I believe the poor soundproofing isn't due to its proximity to the elevator, but because it's just inherently bad. I couldn't hear the elevator doors opening or closing, nor its automated announcements. But I *could* clearly hear people walking in the hallway, the sound of luggage wheels rolling on the floor, neighbors closing their doors, neighbors blow-drying their hair, and even trolleys far down the hallway or on the floor above. Rooms near elevators are undoubtedly passed by other guests the most frequently, but ultimately, a whole host of problems stemmed from this hotel's extremely poor sound insulation. 3. **Poor hygiene.** To be honest, I don't recall ever staying at a Quanjing (All Seasons) Hotel before. I always thought Quanjing was on par with Orange Hotels. But as soon as I entered, I immediately noticed that this hotel's environment and cleanliness couldn't compare to Orange. The toilet had an unpleasant odor, the inside of the bowl wasn't very clean, and the bathroom floor tiles were yellowed with a distinct smell that made standing in there uncomfortable. There were obvious stains on the sofa and visible yellowing on the curtains. 4. **Bedding seemed unclean.** I felt itchy on my arms while sleeping and only found relief after applying some skincare products. Now, as I type this on the plane, my neck and shoulders are noticeably itchy and uncomfortable. I don't have allergies to food, medication, sunscreen, or any other known conditions. After much thought, I suspect it was an allergic reaction caused by potentially unclean bedding. 5. **Robot delivery service?** This was also very strange. I ordered takeout, and the delivery driver told me he'd left it at the front desk and a robot would bring it up to my room shortly. I waited and waited, and then a man knocked on my door and handed me the takeout. This man wasn't wearing a uniform and didn't look like hotel staff. He wasn't young and was carrying three or four takeout bags, each with a room number written on it. He asked me, "This is your takeout, right?" So, was this man hotel staff? Why was *he* delivering takeout? Does the hotel even *have* a robot delivery service? I was a solo female traveler staying in the hotel last night, and regardless of whether this man was hotel staff or not, I felt a lack of security. 6. **Outdated facilities.** I didn't check how long this hotel had been open before booking, but every detail made me feel like it was truly rundown. First, there was the aforementioned cleanliness, and then the facilities. Worn-out curtains, worn-out flooring, a worn-out sofa… The light controls, the front desk phone – everything looked very old and dated. Is Quanjing Hotel always going for a retro vibe? The quality here is something I wouldn't even call excellent compared to hotels I stayed in for my college entrance exam ten years ago. Isn't it 2026 this year? What exactly is going on? In conclusion, this Quanjing Hotel near Zhengzhou Airport completely shattered my preconceived notions of the brand. Giving it such a low rating is, for me, completely logical and reasonable. I'm not a professional hotel reviewer; I'm just a regular consumer catching a 9 AM flight the next day. I have nothing further to add.
