The Cliff Hotel & Spa

Very nice place lovely walks around the hotel and the restaurant had very good service:

The hotel is in a stunning location, our room was small but comfortable, and the staff were very attentive and helpful. I have one single grouch about this hotel. I had an excellent dinner of fish and chips on our first evening. This was served (as is fairly common in pub restaurants) on top of paper printed with an article about the history of fish and chips. I know that there is paper in the food trade that is permitted for this use, BUT the paper turned into an objectionable mush under my peas and the tartar sauce, breaking into pieces and sticking to the batter of the fish. This is completely unacceptable and unhygienic and I sincerely hope the Cliff Hotel will reconsider and stop what is in any event a totally unnecessary practice. Apart from that it's 10 out of 10 and we would thoroughly recommend the hotel.

Only one fault on our stay was hearing the people in the above room, switching the tap on and off, apart from that everything else was very good 👍

Pleasant hotel with lovely sea views. Spa was quite well equipped, although pool wasn’t really large enough to have a proper swim - clever wide-angle photography to make you think you could though ...

Great place and stunning views

Booked a weekend as part of a wedding party. What a gorgeous place, wedding was perfect. Room was gorgeous and sad we never spent much time in it. Amazing views, lovely food, reasonably priced. Only small thing was there was no decent light in bathroom or bedroom to be able to do make up. Staff were so friendly, we will book again to spend more time in the area.

We visited for our 18th wedding anniversary. Our room was lovely, lots of little extras (cotton buds, shower cap) and handy robe and slippers in the room which we wore to the spa. The spa was lovely, recently renovated and very relaxing. Unfortunately we were unable to have a treatment as they were fully booked but our hour in the spa was lovely (you must prebook). We watched the sun go down in the bar (views to die for) and had a nice meal in the restaurant. My only constructive criticism would be that there could be more variety on the menu, it was very limited. We will definitely return as we love the feel of the place.

We enjoyed a wonderful four night break recently and had an excellent experience. The location is stunning and from the moment you walk through the entrance to the reception desk the team were friendly, welcoming and efficient. It must be said that at the end of January there were some renovations taking place. It was the main kitchen which was closed and so all the food was being produced in the banqueting kitchen, so I was told. This did not affect our dining experience in any way and we had exceedingly good meals throughout our stay. We were on a D,B&B package and we had delicious food throughout the hotel, served by lovely, friendly individuals who were absolutely delightful. Our bedroom was very good, slightly on the small size but we did have a king-size bed and everything we needed. We had booked the core package but you could book other room types and suites with sea views. The Spa was also very good and I had a fabulous Elemis Hot Stones massage which was fabulous. One of the best I have ever had. Definitely would recommend a stay here!

Fantastic stay, staff were lovely, spa was fab, lovely food , Only thing I'd say is not much choice on the menu for evening meal, other than that highly recommend this place
