It was brilliant!
It is the same with pictures on this site.
They gave me yukata and towel and changed it every day. I had a tea and enjoyed it on my balcony. I tried a futon at first time in my life.
I had my own reserved table for breakfast.
❗❗❗The hotel has its own bus with driver, which took me to the Snow Monkey Park and to the station for free!
Actually staff was so polite! It is seems like you are someone important.
Actually the only one minus that you can't go to all 9 Shibu Onsen's baths, but just to 9th bath only. But the hotel has its own bath even open-air.
It was really nice and comfortable accommodation.

You can enjoy the open mountain view and the falling snow in the rooftop hot spring pool, which is refreshing. Dinner is a Japanese-style meal with fresh ingredients and generous portions. Breakfast is buffet style, and you can taste local pickles and various delicacies.

The location is excellent, the transportation is very convenient, and it is relatively close to Ye Yuan Hot Spring. The staff is very friendly and the hot spring in the hotel is great. But the meals are not rich enough to fill you up.

The hotel staff are very friendly, unfortunately they don't understand much English. But the bathhouse on 3/F is very convenient and comfortable. There is a park for residents next to the hotel. There are more than a dozen cherry blossoms in bloom, which surprises us! There was no shower or shampoo in the room, so I had to go to the bathroom to take a shower.

The hotel arranges vehicles to pick up and drop off at Yudanaka Station. Although the building is old, the service staff are very kind. The fly in the ointment is that the water in the public pool hot spring is too hot to soak in. There are also hotels that take us to the entrance of the Jigokudani Monkey Park, but we need to take a bus to the stop near the hotel on the return journey. The environment of the day, when it started to blow wind and snow, it was really hard to go back to the hotel All suffering.

What an absolutely gorgeous traditional Japanese hotel. Like most people we stayed because we were in town to visit the Snow Monkey Park, and we couldn’t fault this for a close place to stay nearby. The hotel is older, but has all the necessary amenities. We had a Japanese room, which meant mattresses on the tatami floor. The mattresses were fine to sleep on, but I will admit I wasn’t a fan of the pillow. The dinner was incredible, so many different foods to try, they were all scrumptious and the service was lovely. Food was served in private rooms on the lower floors, which was nice and allowed for privacy with my partner while we ate. Breakfast was also great, buffet style with lots of different choices. Would definitely stay again if we were in the area.

The room was spacious and warm. I even had to turn the heater off before going to sleep because it made the room so toasty. I never felt cold inside. Everyday we had an amazing and healthy breakfast feast to fuel up before driving out to the ski slopes. And of course coming back to the onsen after a day of skiing is the best way to wrap up the day and help those tired muscles recover. A thing to note is that my room (and most accommodations in Yudanaka) don't have showers attached, so one would have to go to the onsen (located within the same building) to take a shower. There is an ensuite toilet. Initially I felt that the shower thing wasn't something I'd like but it is actually ok - I went to the onsen everyday after skiing anyway, and for hygiene purposes one would shower before getting into the onsen. It is never crowded in the onsen, male and female are separate, nudity is completely normal and no biggie, everybody just minds their own business. I highly recommend the onsen experience, it is quite something different and a Japanese tradition. Everything that one needs is provided in the onsen and shower area. There are also hairdryers, face/body moisturisers. My stay included one dinner in the hotel and it was the best dinner I've had in years! It must have been 8 courses with some side dishes, all meticulously prepared and delicious! The staff spoke some very basic English and were all lovely and helpful.

A ryokan located in Honami Onsen, one of the Yudanaka Onsen Villages. As usual with this type of inn, the facilities are quite old. It's better not to have high expectations in that regard. I can't say that the customer service is good, but the price is reasonable and the hot springs are nice. It's also within walking distance to Yudanaka Station and Shibu Onsen, so it's worth it if you think about it just for the night. The view from the room was not bad as the river was flowing right in front of us. I'm not sure if I'll come back again, but if I can't find another place to stay, I might come back again.
