El Hotel

The biggest bummer of this trip was booking this hotel. The service was absolutely nonexistent. Check-in was done at the kiosk, but the front desk was completely deserted. During my two nights there, I only saw the housekeeper, and no one from the hotel management staff. We booked it during Korea's long holiday, and the price was quite high, almost 1,200 per night, without breakfast. I checked and found that weekday prices are only around 300 or 400. At that price, it's a good value, especially considering the ocean view, with the hotel directly across from the sea. But the location is awkward. It's in the middle of nowhere, right in the middle of nowhere. It's smack in the middle of Yangyang and Sokcho, so you can't order takeout. There aren't many restaurants nearby, so you have to go to Sokcho for meals. As for the room itself, there wasn't even a socket near the bed, let alone a USB port. Most shockingly, they only provided one pillow. I've been staying in hotels for so long, and I've never encountered a hotel that only provided one pillow. And this isn't a hostel. Even 300-yuan motels provide data cables and USB ports, but they didn't mention a single pillow. It's a complete waste of money. If I had no other choice, I wouldn't have spent so much money on this hotel. I can only say that 400 yuan is the maximum I'd spend on a hotel, and that's just for the view. In short, beware! I didn't expect it to be this bad before booking. It's worse than a motel. How dare they offer such a high price!

I went on a trip to celebrate my baby's 100th day. I used it for 2 days out of a 3-night, 4-day trip. The rooftop view was nice, and the room view was nice, so I took a lot of pictures. I paid 50,000 won for dinner and ordered unlimited barbecue and beer, but I didn't feel bad about it. I had a great trip at a reasonable price.
